Because the people who respond to such a sign weren't going to vote for McCaskell anyway.

It may however, push a reasonable moderate Republican into voting for a Democrat. I'm not sayin' it would be wise for the McCaskell campaign to erect the signs herself, but it has been done before.

in a western state with many reservations and I can unequivocally tell you that racism is VERY much alive. Many whites in this state, including those who live on the reservations, are blatantly and openly racist and too many others don't even bat an eye over it. I talked to several friends in Mass over the last few days, and some women say that their husbands who had not thought about the Senate race are now fired up and ready to vote Scott Brown out of office.

Their free speech likely will backfire on their campaign by advertising who and what they are.

I only have two known ancestors of Native American ancestry (both Susquehannan), but still - it's in my blood. I look Native American. So does my mom, and so does my youngest daughter. Funny side note. My Russian teacher kept telling us to come to her office to bet a "Verb Veal" - I don't do veal. I finally did and said, "OH! A VERB wheel!"

I took french for 14 years (french immersion school and university) and I still have conjugation issues, lol. Oh hell, I have issues in English because I spent most of my schooling learning French.

We had to do "conversation" things (reading from text). On one occasion, our teacher absolutely lost it. It was the first time we'd ever seen her laugh. The guy reading the text said "champignon" instead of "champion" for a water skier and she got a mental image of a mushroom on water skies. The only useful thing I got out of two years of French is "Je ne parle pas français". It was useful in Montreal at least.

I frequently answer the phone (for telemarketers) with "Что ебешь, снова?" (What the fuck, over?) and then follow with "Я не говорю Английский." (I don't speak English). It usually gets them to hang up. On one occasion, after the "I don't speak English" line, she said, "Oh, I see. You don't speak English." I responded with "Da" and hung up.
