Romney is promising empathy and zingers at the debates.

I'll bet you $10,000* he fails at both.

Empathy and comedic timing cannot be learned at "debate camp".

He needs to bump up his likability numbers. I don't expect to see him snarl and hiss too much. I hope I'm wrong and his true prick nature comes out to bite himself in the ass.

He is more devoid of a relatable personality than any other person I can think of. I predict that his zingers will fall flat and his attempts at empathy will come across as hollow and creepy.

...because Romney has spent his entire life avoiding any show of empathy. In fact, at Bain, it was his job to have absolutely no empathy and to view employees as objects to be fired for monetary gain. Rombey turned human suffering into millions in his pockets.

Everyone will see through it.

Zingers? Really? If I were a Romney fan, I would be insulted. As it is, the sooner his candidacy is in the dust bin of history, the happier I will be.
