Unmasking the most influential billionaire in U.S. politics

LA Times article describes a man scarier and possibly more influential than the Koch brothers...

The most influential billionaire in America is Peter G. Peterson, whose misleading campaign to 'reform' traditional social welfare programs has subtly set the terms of the Washington debate.

Doesn't get as much attention as Adelson, but more dangerous because he buys politicians and opinion on a bipartisan basis.

The guy believes that social utility is maximized by shifting resources upwards toward big banks, global assets markets and multinational corporations. It used to be called Supply-Side. It also just happens to benefit "Pete" Peterson and people just like himself.

the foundation's 'charitable purpose'.

Pisses me off all these rich people get to set up tax-free foundations to shelter their money & ride their political hobbyhorses. Every millionaire & billionaire has a private foundation these days. And a lot of them use the proceeds to meddle in politics.

Yeah, we know about the Kochs and their crusade, but the ones that destroy you are the ones you never see in the dark. Pete Peterson is one of them. Few know about him, and there are probably several others lurking that few know about either.

7. Yes and the only way to defeat the billionaire criminal class is to keep exposing them for who they really are.

Just like we did with the Koch roaches. They were hiding in the shadows for years manipulating oil prices and amassing a fortune the likes of which only a very small percentage of the world will ever get to see. But if we keep exposing the real criminals of this world we win every time.
