Pizza guy's upset because a pizza might cost a person 14 cents more.

Stars in a commercial where the "celebrity" he hired to help him sell pizzas probably costs more than the $280,000 that the 2 million pizzas would "overcharge".

BTW, the cheapest pizza is $7, and he's "giving 2 million pizzas away" ... at a cost to the company of $14,000,000.

Here's an idea ... if you can't afford to pay 14 cents more for a pizza, maybe you shouldn't be buying overpriced pizza, and spending that $7+ on some more healthy alternatives ...

I make my own from scratch...I used King Arthur's Italian Flour for the pie crust, fresh mozzarella, dried or fresh basil, Boars Head pepperoni and make my own pizza sauce. 2 pizza's cost me maybe $5-6.00... I may buy 2 pizza's a year which cost say $ 25.00!

This is how the 47% do things.

and have had orders for my pizza, for $15 a pizza. It's a deep dish with a LOT of unusual toppings. You won't get anything like this at a chain pizza place.

Some options are having your local grocer sell your pies on consignment. If you have a popular and well visited small convenience near you, make pies and have them sell them and take a percentage of the cut. The key is not to over produce or go in debt, make what you can pay for and can sell. Calculate your costs and decide what gross margin you want, a GM of 20-25% is reasonable. Another option is to build pies, freeze them and set up an online shipping business, for perishable food that route is rather complicated and shouldn't be a first or second choice.

I use plain old KA flour and no pizza sauce- just sliced tomatoes on top of thinly sliced mozzarella with freshly grated parm on top drizzled with olive oil, salt and freshly ground black pepper. It's amazing.

but the tip will be 14 cents less. So raising the price of a pizza in such an increment is basically taking $ out of the server/delivery driver's paycheck.

without all of the fat, and make it for less. The best part is that it is hot and delivered on time.

The last time I bought pizza was from Papa Ginos two years ago and what I had was a grease bomb.

Don't cry about pizza. Make it yourself.
