Have you ever been in a situation where you had a nutcase like Romney trying to push you over the edge? Romney may just looking for that moment where Obama does something uncharacteristic. And then they'll blow it out of proportion.

Romney tells the $716 billion Medicare lie, the one Clinton made clear to everyone was a lie. I'd call him on it.

Romney runs down a long sad list of current economic woes. I would point to trickle-down economics and the GOP's record over the last decade and say "You built that."

That's what I'd do.

R's ready to pounce on every word Obama makes and each hit counts. Obama sounds repetitive while R sounds like he has a plan even though he doesn't. This is not going to go well for O imho, and I hope I'm wrong. It will be written all over MSNBC's faces post debate within the first few seconds... But R is on, and O did not bring his rally-ness to the debate.

...and it's worrying me. He IS rude, no doubt. But when he is talking about his policies he sounds forceful and convincing, especially for those who do not know the details and who do not realize that he has not supplied any of those details. Most people do not think that the 1% are trying to steal everything and set up a caste system in this country... they just don't get it.

...but as has been proven time and time again, that makes little difference as to who wins the debate. Who wins is who is perceived to have won. I am disappointed that Romney appears more forceful, and the President appears more hesitant.

Mitt is talking fast, he is interrupting and aggressive. But he has to be that way because his sentences don't hold up to close scrutiny.

He talks like a CEO and expects his word to be law.

Romney seems to be making up shit as he goes along, and since (in his view) no one is challenging him on each phony new stance, he just gets bolder and proclaims yet another new and crazy position… The fact checkers are going to be busy tonight.

I can't stand Romney. In the dictionary, under "pained look," you'll find a picture of Mitt Romney, among others...

It's getting even lower. "We'll get the cost of healthcare down." and he talks about how bad Obamacare is.

It's going up..."I will not cut military funds."

But the approval line doesn't go up as high as Obama's did, and his approval line doesn't stay up long.

Obama was unable to refute Romney because Romney wasn't Romney during this debate.

Obama did have a down night. But like Chris Hayes just said, Mitt's night was good, but not good enough.
