Mass hyperventilation and panic.

I seriously think some were hoping for Obama to vault from behind the podium and slash Romney's throat.

from tonight (not that it matters, of course), and the pundits if they follow the liberal blogs will also use it. But who knows how the public in general saw the debate? Romney lied his ass off and was unlikeable. Obama was off his game, but still generally factual and presidential. Maybe they will like that more than the bully?

debates, State of the Union speeches - it turns into Twitter, without a hashtag facility to allow you to concentrate on things. Everyone starts a thread with the first thing to comes into their head, maybe one sentence of 'body' text, then they move on. Posting quickly makes their thread title look up to date.

When I want to catch up (from the UK) on what happened on nights like this, I don't come to DU - I know it will be unfocused, everyone rushing to get their sentence in, with few conversations, and a high chance of infighting as people quickly take offence at threads that were started hastily.

That's life. That's DU.
