But, perhaps history will show it was the best thing to do in the long run, because Obama does need to begin to feel a sense of urgency about the debates.

I'm more concerned that there might be something else more pressing that involves national security.

Obama, has the base. He was going after the independents tonight. No reason to be pulled into a partisan fight when the object of the debate is to lay out your plan, your vision. Obama has his sharp contrast. We saw that tonight...they hyped this like a fucking SuperBowl game with the countdown clock and everything...I expected to see the E TRADE baby in some new spectacular TV Ad.

This was not a grudge match for the bases, see which candidate draws blood...this was an exchange of views, visions, plans. Obama did what he was supposed to do. He was not baited to become that CRAZED ANGRY BLACK MAN that they so hoped he would....think about it.

47% thought Romney won, and that's okay because there will always be 47% that Democrats will never win. (LOL.) And then 32% thought Obama won with the others calling it a draw.

We can work with that.

Tweety and Ed Schultz. Both are strong, very verbal men, bordering on being physically confrontational, and they are not cerebral in any sense of the word. They react with emotion, which makes you root for them in a street fight, but then they can come across as blowhards and would be thrown out of a technical boxing match, because their hits would be ruled illegal and they would lose points.

Chris & Rachael & Lawrence are more cerebral and are they are working through it.
