People paid a bit more attention to Biden v. Palin because of McCain's age and health - they really could see a scenario in which McCain died or had to retire through health. Romney, on the other hand, is younger than McCain and has no health problems. So no-one is thinking "what if Ryan had to take over?" And I don't think that debate will move voting significantly either way.
