I missed the debate tonight.

I thought I set it to record when we went out to dinner, but apparently not.

But we did catch just a bit of the hyperventilating on MSNBC (which I felt compelled to shut off after about 10 minutes) and some here, but comments I've read at other less partisan sites (newspaper, Facebook) are FAR less critical of the president's debate performance. I think everyone needs to breathe and remember that elections aren't won or lost on debates alone.

The debate repeats here in a couple of hours, but I don't think I'll be watching.

I heard there weren't many specifics given by either Obama or Romney. Can't we get any real information from these people? I avoid tv ads like the plague because they're nothing but lies. I was hoping to get some real substance, some real facts from both of them. I thought that's what debates are suppose to be about. I guess there is no way to really get facts out of candidates anymore. It doesn't really matter for me so much because I was always planning on voting for Obama but I can't help but wonder what the undecided voters must be thinking.

He didn't. Romney did, but that doesn't mean Romney won the debate. DUers and some folks at MSNBC want a firebrand. Obama is no such thing....he's calm cool and collected. Attacking is not Obama's style and that's why his likeability is way better than Romney's

I think the debate is either a wash or slight edge to Obama because Romney looked unhinged while Obama remained Presidential.

My critique of him (admittedly I'm extremely biased) is that he really needs to watch his body language, facial expressions and tone of voice - he came across as arrogant, had a nasty smirk, raised his voice, and looked like a real asshole. Granted, he is a real asshole, so he's just being himself.
