Block for him or walk off the field. Ok I get it by not being the "Angry Black Man" that Mitt tried to goat Obama into everyone thinks our President lost. I would rather have our man get sacked with the ball instead of throwing a interception. If Obama had gone after Mitt last night with the aggression everyone seems to think he should have then we would have given the other side a lot of ammunition. Instead we have all the ammunition with Mitts lies from last night, but now we have to use it and stay in the fight. During the primaries after every win Mitt fumbled the ball, let us keep the pressure on and as they say "Hit Him Again, Hit Him Again Harder, Harder". Now is not the time to take shots at our quarterback now is the time to help him out.
What are you going to do to help? whine and cry over spilled milk, or push the press to report the truth on Mitts lies. If Big Ed and the other liberal pundits want to walk away from the fight and complain about how Obama blew it giving support to Mitt's team then we are leaving our quarterback unprotected. We need a team effort to win!
WAKE THE F#@* UP
MSNBC were the cheerleaders for Mitt, put down the pom poms and get your game face on. If we do not step up and help out then we are going to be steam rolled. There will be more than enough time to rethink what should have been after the fight is over, right now we have to steep up our game. If we do not support our man when he is under attack how can we complain if Mitt wins.
You think you could have done better well maybe so but you were not on stage or in the White House for the last 3 and a half years. If we drop our guard now we will be F@#* for the next 4 to 8 years, is that what you want?
This will require a big team effort all hands on deck. If you are pissed direct that anger at Mitt the Lier not at our own team. President Obama will not be able to fight Mitt and his money men with out a lot of our help. Nothing makes Mitt happier than to see our team divided, let us pull together and take the fight to Mitt and expose his lies.

(3,891 posts)We needed the President last night, and to further quote the TV show West Wing, we got Uncle Fluffy. Do you remember the Gore Debates? Too Hot, Too Cold, Just right? That was the talking points of every news organ as we went into the stolen election. That is why many people could believe that Bush actually won. The talking points right now are that President Obama didn't want to bother with the debate. Andrew Sullivan is saying that our President lost to Mittens in his live blogging of the debate.
We needed a fighter, we got a guy coasting to the end of his last campaign for the last job he'll ever have. We haven't won this election, but we can still lose it.

(3,226 posts)We need to turn the focus on to Mitts lies and stop the chatter about our man's performance. It will do us no good wishing on what might have been. We are in a fight for our future and now is the time to take the fight to the other team not put our own team down.
Obama can not win this by himself, I know some want him to but the truth is he needs our help right now. Sure maybe Big Bill might have been able to do it on his own but Obama is the guy we have now and if you do not want Mitt to run this country then step up and help.

(2,902 posts)No need to panic but there are 2 more debates and Obama needs to be different next time. This was the 'prevent defense' debate (this guy's so far behind he can't win...don't take chances). They'll look at the polls and adjust accordingly.
Drop Kerry as the Romney stand in. I think that's who they're using. Tell Obama to stop writing and looking down. Looks bad on split screen. Stop saying 'Don't boo...vote'. We (and he) can do both.

(3,891 posts)We all went into the Debate last night waiting for the Obama we knew from four years ago. The one who could stand up and tell us what we believed, and convince the average American that he was the best choice. We ignored the warnings, and we got slapped around on the stage.
If you've ever wondered why a person who is running a race leans forward as they cross the finish line, it is in an effort to shave a hundredth of a second from their time. They are not running to the finish line, they are scrambling to get across the line. Only when they are so far in front that there is no need to do so, do they slow approaching the line, the last few steps taken to begin the cool down, the coast across the line.
President Obama was coasting as he went into that debate. A month before the election, and he was coasting. But honestly, I have the feeling that he's been coasting for the entire campaign. Someone told him he has this won, that Romney doesn't have a chance. Someone lied to him. This is a tough fight, against a relentless enemy that will stop at nothing. We try to comfort ourselves that MSNBC is in the tank for Romney. That isn't exactly right. They just wanted to see a fighter up on stage, and they got a coasting candidate.
The TV show West Wing called it Game On when the debate went down. But before that, President Bartlett got angry, and determined to win the election. So when will President Obama get angry, when will he get determined to win this election? It's going to take more than coasting through the debates, and coasting through the last month. He is going to have to dig deep and show us what we saw before, an idealist that believes in his principals. I only hope that candidate shows up, before its too late.

(25,029 posts)Play calling like that isn't likely to put it in the endzone or even allow the ball to be moved down field against the current media environment (aka defense).
You do have to score to win.

(1,151 posts)I think Democrats should either assume he's playing some multi-dimensional chess game, or get pissed at Obama not defend him. Let him know that we expect him to be prepared for the next debate.
If Romney lies, it's up to him to correct it during the debate, not leave it to the media to correct the next day. At least to me, it looked like he had memorized a few facts (the $5 trillion amount in Romney's plan) but wasn't prepared to debate them in any detail. It may have been strategy, but it came off like he didn't have the knowledge to rebut the lies on the spot.

(14,923 posts)How many times have you watched a game where the dog team comes out pumped and scores a quick pair of touchdowns before the end of the first quarter. Yet, before the end of the first half, the Fav comes back and regains the lead. After that, they never look back and they destroy the spread.
We have finished the first quarter where Romney scored a safety but Obama kicked a field goal. I'm not on the bandwagon like so many claiming doom and gloom and that Romney won the debate.
After the debate, If I lined up 1000 people and told them they have first pick to hand over the ' football ' nuke codes,......who do you think they would pick?
Who looked edgy and unstable and who looked calmed and resolute?
Was it Obama or Mitt?
