as it was loading and going frame by frame, you can see the widening of Obama's eyes before he turns his head...like "did he just SAY that shit?"

and if you look at his eyes, he kinda looks like he wants to go all "cray mofo" on him

i'd like to watch the whole debate in slo mo and see the reactions/facial expressions/body lang more carefully ...

That one you got there is around where he stopped trying to have a civil discussion.

I think it was the one where Rmoney compared Obama to his boys and suggested he lies to get his way.

Hoping to get through to someone. Our candidate, who is the greatest speaker of our time, who is able to inspire as no one since JFK or FDR, appeared hesitant and unprepared. Romney the lying bastard, appeared confident and hungry for the job. The impression I got almost immediately, and have not had reason to change, was that President Obama was coasting. He went through the motions of Debate Prep, he is going through the motions of a campaign.

I want our old candidate back, the tireless campaigner of 2008 who inspired us. I want the candidate who spoke with passion, and I want that man back in the Oval Office. I don't want Romney, and we are going to get that very thing unless we get serious about the campaign. But no matter how serious WE get, it's up to President Obama to get serious, and unless there has been a big change since last night, I'm afraid he hasn't. We are liable to be gnashing our teeth in a month, raging against the unfairness of it all, if President Obama doesn't realize this is serious.

that the image of confidence - in this case confidence is translated to mean the arrogance of the privileged class -trumps reality, economic justice, and social justice? That so many think Romney is a clear winner tells me that the American people love authoritarians and value authority over all else.

People respect confidence. A General even out of uniform draws respect because of the confidence that is exuded. A foreman is selected partly because of time, but mostly because of the respect he/she gets and the confidence they show. People equate confidence to competence.

Look at it this way. We all know that times are tough. We have had a hell of a time trying to get out of the Bush Recession, and we are still struggling. The body language told two different stories. One, a smirk, which is already on YouTube, and the other a confident and comfortable candidate. Confident often translates in peoples minds as Competent, rightly or wrongly. Imagine two people issuing instructions in an emergency. One is issuing concise orders clearly. One is hesitating, and looking around, possibly as if looking for something, or someone to give them help. Which one gets listened to? Which one gets the trust of those who want to know what to do? People trust Doctors because the really good ones exude confidence, and people are left with the impression that they are competent. That is what I am trying to say.

I love President Obama. I have refereed to him many times, here even, as the greatest speaker of our time, possibly since JFK and or FDR. But he was not on his game last night. He looked like he walked in expecting a win, expecting to coast to victory. This race isn't over by a long shot, but it must have the main participant, our President, running. That is all I have been saying, and I stand by that opinion until, or unless someone can show me I'm wrong.

I know the Retugs, I work with too many of the assholes to not know them. I also know the other third of my co-workers. I know what they are looking for, and what they are seeing. That stupid GOP video wasn't up for ten minutes before my friend from work had sent it to me. But I had been talking about that image all morning, not the smirk, the impressions that people got from the debate.

I don't want four years of Romney screwing up this nation. We can't win without President Obama digging out his A game, his best game. Now the pressure is really on for the second debate. Because going into it, we are going to have to overcome a huge deficit of opinion, and we can't do it like we did before, or we might as well cancel the third debate. President Obama has to uncork the bottle of his speaking genius. Because God help us if we lose this election, we won't have a country left in four years to try again.

A danger to our security. He just spews shit off without even thinking. He thinks he can say ANYTHING, and lie about it later.

China already hates him for the hypocritical remarks he made about them. I don't care what you think about their human rights, you don't use attacking our biggest economic ally as a political tool, especially when you personally have greatly benefited from them. Romney as President would probably instantly put as at war in the Middle East, as Netanyahu is his personal buddy and he has no willingness to even attempt to think about the point of view of the rest of the Middle East. In his first trip to the UK as a candidate, he managed to make a fool of himself and was critical of Olympic organizers before the event even began. If he becomes President, the "special relationship" will become strained, as David Cameron lost all respect for Romney at that point. This is the ONLY candidate I have ever seen who manages to piss off both our enemies and our allies equally.
