President Obama made fun of Mitt Romney's debate call to cut off federal dollars for PBS at a rally in Madison, Wisconsin on Thursday.
"When he was asked what he would do to actually cut spending and reduce the deficit, he said he'd eliminate public television funding," Obama said. "But I just want to make sure got this straight. He'll get rid of regulations on Wall Street -- but he's going to crack down on Sesame Street."

(256 posts)... a lot more than was apparent last night, I think. So many Americans grew up with Sesame Street - it is really a quintessential part of growing up American, and the emotional attachment to your gentle, lovable childhood heroes runs deep.
Threatening any of the characters, especially Big Bird, one of the most gentle characters of the series, is something only someone like R could have decided to say. He meant to sound snappy and light-hearted, but it's a choice that noone with a regular feeling of empathy would have made. It revealed that he has sociopathic traits, unable to feel empathy, to relate to others.
The line got viral. CNN had it on the center of their webpage today, with the Sesame St cast. It's not gonna sit well .
