Mitt was in France.

I didn't know the Vietcong were in Paris, but they must have been, because I've seen pics of Mitt protesting those who opposed the war.

Might lose the daddy vote too. I see a lot of dads making an effort to spend more time with their children and they are just as likely to be upset if their children are upset over losing Big Bird. If it was up to me I would put up a Big Bird ad and air it on a Saturday morning.

Moms do not want their kids to lose what they, themselves, knew and loved. Willard seriously blew it with this idiotic remark. And I am very glad.

"Did he seriously say that?!"

I caught him muttering under his breath several times, "...how long has Sesame Street been on?...he'd just cancel it?...."

We watched Sesame Street tonight with our son.

I think Romney does not understand that MILLIONS of children learn a heck of a lot of what they need to know, before going to school, by watching Sesame Street.

Sesame Street is pretty popular, so I imagine it would get picked up by one of the corporate broadcast networks. Who would then proceed to destroy a wonderful legacy. I don't want Burt and Ernie selling my child junk food.

He chooses to cut funding to PBS, which is a scant 1/100th of a percent of the budget. Who benefits from PBS? Not his wealthy cronies, that's for sure, but gdamnit that money has to come from somewhere. So firing Big Bird it is!

Shows his true colors. He's always been great at firing people, now he can include firing birds in his resume.

- but not now. The field for children's educational programming is far larger now. I have a 5 yr. old granddaughter and - while she's seen Sesame Street - it's just one of numerous similar shows. Frankly, I doubt she'd know it was even gone.
