Romney was ready to apologize to the country during the debate..He didn't get the chance..obviously.

If Obama would have attacked him the way most of us wanted, especially on the 47 percent comment, It is obvious now, Romney was ready to apologize for that comment. That apology in front of the country would have momentarily looked quite good since he had practiced it. Oh, he is sorry for what he said..many would have commented..He is "senstive"..and thoughtfull some might have concluded from that apology.....But it didn't happen.

Obama never gave him that chance..Now, Romney goes before Fox News, and it it is just another sound bite for Friday''s news.. Kinda late...so what? On that Obama won. Romney's venue for this too late apology...Fox morning news, or the late news..
or whatever, whereever... not the entire country with 60 million watching..

I just referenced this in another thread. My opinion - he was going to try to 'pin it' on President Obama.

Either way - apology - or screaming and twitching that Obama said it - it was wise to not mention it.

the president having his own plane and his own house, etc.....

The president should have retorted with - NO, that's YOU who is entitled to your own plane and your own HOUSES - but not your FACTS. So, stop lying! I wish Obama would have said that.

I can't picture anyone, even Rmoney saying something that immature.

The pundits would melt down over it.

And the viewer does not have to be spoon fed everything. It's obvious to everyone that Obama's plane and house are the nation's and he is in it temporarily due to our have elected him to the office that goes with it. That comment made Rmoney look horrible, so why top him in horribleness?

Obama is always going to be a no drama guy who does not provide the emotional person with their fix. This could even be why he was elected - people may be getting sick of the drama. It'll be great when these pundits are fired to make way for real political analysts.

this is what I saw: the LBJ ad with the little girl plucking a daisy with the mushroom cloud suddenly going off behind her. I don't want crazy in charge. I don't want religious kook in charge. I don't want liars in charge.

Obama looks like the adult in the room. Always. It is his strength.

Fox News viewers hate the "other half" of the country they assume rMoney was talking about anyway. (Though that 47% includes a lot of them too.)

I'm sure his Fox News base feels he pissed all over them with this, LOL.

There is this fantasy about "magic bullet" statements that can be made in these things.

Of COURSE Romney has a practiced answer for most obvious attacks, which sounds smooth and smells like roses.

That is why Obama gave him none.

And we go through this goddamn insanity every couple months among so-called progressive pundits and DUsrs piling onto the President and throwing him under the fucking bus.

Now look at the result. Rmoney is now forced to go on an apologyy tour the hard way and other news like the UE gets released that now takes away the "unemployment was never below 8%" bullshit.

That man has never apologized for anything in his life.

It would, at best, have been a "mistakes were made" statement.

Somebody who watched Faux, please tell me, how many times did he say he was truly sorry for all the people he hurt? How many times did he say he understands why people were so hurt and angry with what he said? How many times did he say he learned an important lesson and now understands WHY his attitude was so outrageous? Hell how many times did he even acknowledge most of those 47% aren't "takers" at all?

My guess is that the answer to all those questions is zero. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Did he even use the phrase "I am sorry" at any time during that interview?

Plouffe and Obama team were right to leave it out. DU strategizers on this point are just dead wrong politically. They're arguing from partisan desire rather than analytic assessment, like people who bet on their own favorite team.

that Obama is doing what is best for the debate while the pundits want what is best for drama. Naturally the pundits would have had more to talk about. The pundits are emotional people and they are always disappointed because Obama is not going to give them their fix, since it's not a good idea.
