I always believed the election would ultimately come down to the final few unemployment numbers

and I am greatly heartened about today's numbers, since I think these will ultimately decide the election. When Reagan crushed Mondale in the electoral college 525 to 13, unemployment in October 1984 was 7.4%, only 0.4% higher than today and in both elections moving in the right direction.
