Here is THE central issue of 2012, as framed by this scene from It's A Wonderful Life.

Do we want a society where we help the working class who struggle to hold onto their homes and provide for their families, or do we want a society where we let everything "hit the bottom," when the Romneys of the world can scoop up everyone's homes on the cheap, only to rent them back to you?

family relationships, community service, etc. I thought of this movie when I watched people in line to get their money from Washington Mutual and other banks failing.
