Hell to Pay: Big Bird edition
by Joan McCarter
Now Mitt Romney has done it. He's pissed off eight-year-old Alabama resident Cecelia Crawford.
I can think of a few things that could be cut off, but how about we start with the Republican House of Representatives that has voted repeatedly to defund public broadcasting.

Now Mitt Romney has done it. He's pissed off eight-year-old Alabama resident Cecelia Crawford.
On Thursday morning, she was still angry, so she wrote Romney a letter, sent along to The Huffington Post by her mother. Crawford wrote that she is a fan of "Sesame Street" and that it was her "favorite show on earth" when she was younger.
"When I grow up I'm going to get married and I want my kids to watch it so do not cut it off," Crawford wrote. "You find something else to cut off!"

Youtube is being flooded with videos parents are posting of their upset child at hearing Mitt Romney say they are taking away PBS. It isn't just toddlers and pre-schoolers effected, but all elementary school age kids. PBS plays little kid programming while the big kids are at school. Then when the older kids come home it turns into programming for their age as well. Many kids are effected by pbs kids.

First Lady Michelle Obama Hosts First-Ever Kids' State Dinner
http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/08/20/first-lady-michelle-obama-hosts-first-ever-kids-state-dinner
Today, First Lady Michelle Obama hosted the first-ever Kids State Dinner at the White House, welcoming 54 budding chefs to a formal luncheon in the East Room. The guests, all between the ages of 8 and 12, represent all U.S. states, three territories and the District of Columbia.
Each of the guests, along with their parents, submitted a healthy recipe as part of the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge, which invited families to create an original lunchtime recipe that is healthy, affordable and delicious, and follows the nutritional guidelines of MyPlate.
Believe it or not, more than 1,200 kids submitted recipes for this challenge -- 1,200. It's a big competition, the First Lady said. A panel of judges from the organizations that teamed up with Mrs. Obama on this initiative -- Epicurious, the Department of Education and the Department of Agriculturetasted each of the recipes that made it to the final round of the competition and picked their favorites from each state, as Mrs. Obama explained.
