It's mainly a psychological rather than an aesthetic issue, I would think.

As a personal example, most people who would observe my interactions with an attractive and attentive man would Divine that I'm psychologically predisposed to teh gay.

My observations of the couple in question, say on their bourbon ad (which is quite brilliant, as upon experiencing the sight and sound of them both, survival instincts kick in and we race for the liquor cabinet) where they deride one another in manner both unpleasant and disturbing, savage and somehow permissible, we are given another kind of example from which we are free--even invited!--to ponder.

Mary Matalin just set a land speed record for lying even judged by her typical extraordinary standards.

Job explosion? Massachusetts plummeted in the job creation rankings during Romney's governorship.

Balanced the budget? You mean as in hid all sorts of costs in a game of number cooking that would have made any Wall Street CEO trying to hit his number blush?

20 to 30% to charity? First of all, that number is pulled straight out of her bony ass. Second of all, we all know how little of that percentage goes to anything other than the Mormon church and Mormon Church subsidiaries. The number one expense of the Mormon Church? Sustaining Mormonism and hating on everybody who is different from them.

23 million people are out of work? Lying again.

Funny when she said "complete and utter despicable distortion" she was clearly giving us a pre-cap.

What a lying prostitute.

What a fucking liar.

She's a C-list political operative. Let's face it, the woman was George H.W. Bush's campaign manager, so getting her ass kicked by the Big Dawg is pretty much the high-water mark of her resume. Were it not for her quasi-celebrity status as Mrs. James Carville, she'd be the most obnoxious check-out clerk at your neighborhood Safeway.

She's got nothing by that "trained seal" ability to spout Republican talking points, and when somebody like Roland Martin (who I've just recently discovered, and I dig the hell out of him) slaps her silly, she's got nothing but more talking points. Just repeated loudly.

Personally I was not particularly offended that President Obama did not bring up the 47% comment. I feel his performance was lackluster and he should have defended the savings they used from Medicare to fix some of the problems with the prescription drug plan. I feel he should have noted that the same provision was in Paul Ryan's budget and that all the Republicans voted for that provision. That to me was a much bigger fumble than leaving out the 47% comment. Now that I have read your comment I feel that way even more. It didn't click with me after the news came out today that Obama actually took a big moment away from Romney when he didn't bring up the 47% comment. He had to know that Romney had prepared for it and was ready to respond.

Philanthropy is commendable, but it must not cause the philanthropist to overlook the circumstances of economic injustice which make philanthropy necessary. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

The reason Mitt has money to give to charity. is because he stole the livelihoods of others to get that money. Charity is lauded by those who enjoy impoverishing others and continue to enjoy their villany by throwing crumbs at the same. If they're in the mood, that is.

Mary Matalin: Thanks To Romney, We Can Single Out ‘Parasites’:

Conservative commentator Mary Matalin hailed Mitt Romney's "47 percent" line on CNN as good news for Republicans.

"There are makers and takers, there are producers and there are parasites," she said. "Americans can distinguish between those who have produced and paid in through no fault of their own and because of Obama's horrible polices who cannot get a job or are underemployed. That's what the campaign is about."

I was thinking the exact same thing! He never said I'm sorry. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've heard him say I am sorry ever because he thinks he's above people, just like Mary Matalin does. Mitt Romney reminds me of a circus elephant. He makes a mess every time he opens his mouth and doesn't worry about fact-checking himself (he knows he's lying) but he knows he's paid people to clean up behind him! He is so out of touch with everything and everybody. The only people he relates to are other wealthy people. He's a bad prescription for this country!!

That has been very disappointing to me these past 4 years.

When the candidate is as horrendous as Romney is, there really are only 2 reasons to be supporting him:

1) one is upper income and one thinks it is in one's self-interest financially to support him

2) one is a racist.

OK. Let's say that 20% of the public really relates to the financial side of things. And I'll give you another 10% who will just automatically vote GOP without thinking about anything. That still gives us 20% who try to make up every excuse in the book, but it boils down to racism.

When McCain was running, he had some redeeming qualities, and some people were excited by Palin, so the racist core wasn't as obvious. Today it is laid bare.
