My own layman's theory about why a lot of the Rich are so fucking angry at the President

Last edited Sat Oct 6, 2012, 12:18 AM - Edit history (1)

Quite simply, they are not fully self-actualized, in spite of having all of that god damned money.

When you look at a chart of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, you'll notice that being fucking loaded will only get you to the Safety Level of Maslow's chart:

As you can see, that only gets you to the next to last level.

In order for these motherfuckers to raise their bloated asses to the Love, Esteem, and Self-Actualization levels, they have to stop depending on being worshipped as rich assholes and start earning some love by being decent human beings instead.

The President, in spite of having a little bit of money, is actually loved in general for being a decent guy. That's excluding all of the fucking haters and racists that think he's some sort of Black Marxist, Kenyan Hitler channeler, of course.

So, these rich and greedy fuckwits who are all living in their gilded cages, where paid sycophants, shuffling minions and servile toadies are always telling them how fucking fantastic they are, aren't getting the same kind of deference from the Uppity Black Prez and all the dirt wallowing proles who support him.

Clearly, he's disrespecting the worth, value and utter moral greatness of their riches. It's not enough that Obama has set the stage for helping them get richer, it's imperative for them that they are PRAISED by him for being even more fucking rich.

They live in a bubble and in that bubble, their shit isn't supposed to stink because they're rich. However, they don't think that they have to do anything more to achieve eventual self-actualization. Being the Rich ought to do the trick. Republicans LOVE rich assholes, which is why they NEVER complain about them.

Basically, they're a bunch of emotionally stunted, greed obsessed assholes with a flaming case of low self-esteem.

So, unless they stop being so emotionally and socially lazy, as they are, and start doing some motherfucking transcending, they're NEVER going to stop bitching about how much they think that the President hates them for being so fucking rich.

Sure, this may be my half-assed theory, but it's all I got.

I've used Maslow's hierarchy of needs many, many times as a template for understanding human nature, but I've never considered it in the context of the ultra-rich. Must suck for them when they realize that no amount of money can purchase self-actualization.

Instead of being just the richest motherfucker in Bedford Falls, Old Man Potter made it a personal crusade to ruin the reputation of George Bailey, because Bailey had the temerity to call him a "warped, frustrated old man". Check out this classic scene:

Bailey was a man who didn't have great personal riches, but his transcendence as a human being was instrumental for the town of Bedford Falls to be a thoroughly livable place. Bailey was loved and respected by the town's citizens and when he found himself in a bind, it was the love and respect of all the people he helped over the years that helped him out.

Potter, on the other hand, only achieved the safety level of Maslow's chart. He had the opportunity to transcend, but never did, was never held in high personal regard for being the richest man in town and for that he resented Bailey's standing in the community, despite the fact that he had money and Bailey was facing financial ruin.

These rich assholes are all Potters, and President is George Bailey who will reap the benefit on election day, for being the decent, transcended human being that he his.

Just look at the President, you can tell that he's have quite a Wonderful Life.

I often think about Thoreau's basics; food, clothing, shelter and energy (i.e. heat, hot water; add electric and transport today). Not much and it's manageable. Dedicating the bulk of your life to material gain that sits on top of what's actually needed really doesn't do much for you, particularly when the work itself is soulless.

They think they have everything and want worship, and apparently they can never have enough possessions and money. But they've gone only about 1/3 of the way up the scale, so they DON'T have everything. As long as they keep wanting only the things on the bottom two levels, they'll never get it.

Thanks~

late-night ad way. You know what I'm talkin' 'bout. Some white men have not come to terms with their penis envy, and this pisses them off.

Sounds silly. Sounds juvenile. Sounds about right.

forgot about Maslow's theory. I would hope more people will read your post. It's all about the basics and true needs of mankind. Never really admired the rich, always found most to be very frustrated or guilty feeling towards the working class folks. The greatest example of this in the now world would be Biff and Bitty Rmoney. I predict that in the next couple of weeks a new I phone video pops up and it will come from the help.

What's really disturbing is,the use of PROJECTION as a defense mechanism by most new richies!

But I think you have it right. Progressives, in general, have more imaginative and interesting things to consider. The kind of things that no amount of money can buy.

They are fine for discussions, not really evidence of anything.

The wealthy are angry at Obama because they've fallen the propaganda of their fellows. Propaganda can work on anyone who fails to read, to think to observe. Alas, few truly do those pieces of the necessary puzzle.

Those types are never satisfied. Whatever they have it's never enough. Asked how much more money he wanted, one billionaire replied, "All of it.". So if Obama cuts their taxes by 1% and Pinnocchio cuts them by. 1.1%, they will turn on Obama like a wounded animal. They say Obama is like Hitler because paying 3% higher taxes feels like a holocaust to them.

They're sick people actually.
