The Death of a Salesman.

How do you defeat a salesman?
By letting him talk.
---------------------
The more a salesman says, the more likely he is to make a mistake.
The more likely that he will contradict himself.
The more likely you will see that he is reaching.
The more likely that he will reveal himself.
The less likely he is to make a sale.
--------------------
Obama recognized that he was dealing with a highly skilled salesman.
He knew that the best way to deal with an ardent salesman is to ignore him ...
... and let him be ardent.
---------------------
No plan is perfect, no plan is without it's drawbacks, but this plan worked.
Obama's genius was not just in recognizing that Romney is a salesman and not a politician;
his triumph was based on his vision that the citizens of this country are not nearly so disinterested in their lives and well-being as Romney and the 1%ers imagine. We are not a 'human resource'. We are informed, we are observant. We are not to be taken for granted. We remember what you said a week ago, a year ago. We've heard enough from salesmen, thank you.
I think Obama gambled on his belief that we are those kind of citizens.
I think he won.
