Questions: Did the new unemployment report include part time jobs for the first time in history?

That is what some right wingers are claiming changed the numbers so drastically.

I am searching, but have not found facts.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, people are shopping for the holidays and stores have to be stocked and ready to go. They can't just pull new hires in without some training.

It could be seasonal or minimum wage.

If the jobs are not of a livable wage, its not going to do the economy much good.

Employed persons
Employed persons consist of: persons who did any work for pay or profit during the survey reference week; persons who did at least 15 hours of unpaid work in a family-operated enterprise; and persons who were temporarily absent from their regular jobs because of illness, vacation, bad weather, industrial dispute, or various personal reasons. The employment-population ratio represents the proportion of the civilian noninstitutional population that is employed. Data are also available for Demographics, Earnings, Hours of work, and other employment characteristics. See also Labor force and Unemployment.

I like to provide information and plant seeds of doubt in their beliefs. Sometimes it works.

9. You cannot prove what hasn't happened.

They are claiming "x happened", it is not on you to prove there have been no changes to the methodology, it is on them to prove that there have been changes. Not only that, but this is an extraordinary claim of corruption and malfeasance, they need to have clear and irrefutable evidence.

That is why I have long given up on debating anything with them. I tell them they are full of shit as soon as they complete their first statement on any topic and I walk away. My life is so much more pleasant since I decided on this approach. These people hate us. Most of them want us dead. Why would you even entertain the thought that you can "plant seeds of doubt in their beliefs" ??

I have ever seen. It is just as senseless to argue with them as a brick wall.

Any changes to the statistical methodology would be in the report and it isn't. The rightwing bullshit machine is in overdrive trying to explain away the facts.
