Bill Maher On Obama's Debate Performance: 'Looks Like He Took My Million And Spent It On Weed'

"He sucked. He looked tired, he had trouble getting his answers out," he said. "It looks like he took my million and spent it all on weed."

Earlier this year, the comedian donated $1 million to the president's Super PAC.

Maher said his lackluster performance could also be blamed on bad timing.

"I don't know if you heard what happened this week, but his wedding anniversary was Wednesday and that was the same day as the debate. He apparently had the sex first, and was completely spent, had nothing left."

(kpete: took a couple of days off after the debate, and I am able to laugh again)

I'd take the Rovian route and just talk him up and declare him the winner regardless.

I really don't get this attitude. It's like he gave him the million for a right to complain and nothing else! (If he did - he might be joking).

But the condescension is fun.

"Maybe old fogies who forgot their ex-lax don't think it's funny"

little nine-year-old Billy Maher made the millions of which he gave one million to Obama, because people think he's funny. You don't think so. Fine. But not only that, you want to crab at people for it. You live in a world of juveniles, it would appear. It's your nightmare come true, perhaps.

"Poops from his mouth" was funny. it was even in a whole South Park episode.

I like you bigtree, always have, and don't mean disrespect to you. You just have more taste and a higher level of comportment. And I do appreciate that.

And as we all know, what I like is all that truly matters here on the DU.

20. I don't think of Maher as a comic
Sat Oct 6, 2012, 01:48 PM
Oct 2012

. . . occasionally comical, maybe.

He's not as much of an advocate, as he is an opinionist. That wouldn't be so bad, if he wasn't making a money-making career out of it, and, pretending that his tired, opportunistic, normally insulting dialog is 'humor' -- just to attract enough of an audience to keep him in the spotlight is just pathetic

I think Bill is smart and funny. Like John Stewart, he's a comedian.

Like any comedian, they miss (Bill's monologue writers in particular can whiff)

But I'm not going to get all offended when they take a (sometimes deserved sometimes not) dig at my side. Sense of humor is one of the things 'our' side is way better at!

Bill's best line last night was to Luntz: "see, that's the difference between rich conservatives and rich liberals - I'm willing to vote against my own best interest for the good of the COUNTRY"

boom

...I guess Maher (and quite a few DUers) missed the part where the viewers got to watch Romney lie about everything and repudiate all of his previous positions backed by the GOP right-wing/Tea Nazis.

Maher needs to grow a pair and keep the off-color personal comments about the Obamas to himself.

to make that comment.

The blindness of people here who don't understand that people expect someone to fight when they have made a significant commitment to that person - seriously, it's shit like this that keeps bringing me back to being angry about that weak ass bullshit performance from the debate.

I'm ready to move on, but only if people will accept reality and accept that there's work to be done.

This constant pretend spin that almost no one outside DU agrees with makes this like a cyber branch of a lunatic asylum.

It's not helping to keep trying for a re-do on reality.

We're better off dealing with the fact that our man read as "above it all" and their lying asshole came across as more energetic and wanting it more.
