When you're a child you think the grown-ups have it all figured out,
then one day you realize they're just bigger kids, often with larger dumb ideas.

I long for the day when science, common humanity, and critical thinking
finally win over superstition, fear, and intellectual laziness.

The interesting thing about the film is that you walk away almost liking the creationist dentist who headed up the Texas school board because he strikes you as just a childlike doofus. It's the evil female Liberty University attorney on the school board who'll make you snarl and hiss.

That's the odd thing about McLeroy in the film. At the end, I almost felt sorry for him because he was like a big dumb puppy who didn't realize he'd made such a god-awful mess.
