Hey Mittens. The poverty rate in France is half our poverty rate.

And the threshold of their poverty rate would not be considered poverty here.

When you're President, you can ask them what we are doing wrong. In French.

Try this when you are speaking to Sarkozy: Pourquoi suis-je comme un crétin?

Mittens was bragging about how American free enterprise was world's best savior of the poor.

Either the GOP or I am getting old. Experience tells me that sometimes we do better, sometimes they do better. It doesn't seem to prove much except that when we do worse, the poor do a lot worse compared to the poor in Europe.

I don't think it started with Freedom Fries either. I think it was older but that lots of Americans sort of bought the notion that socialism was inevitably a bad thing. We are still a very isolationist people. So many Americans have never set foot out of the U.S. They don't know any better so when the RW says stuff like Romney just repeated, it "sounds" OK to them.

Romney is a cynical bastard for saying what he knows is not true...
