175 days since I started voting with my wallet

175 days ago, I quit smoking.

In 2012 millions will be spent by tobacco lobbyists to support GOP candidates for political office.

While it wasn't my original support mechanism to quit smoking in order to prevent my hard earned dollars from supporting lobbyist groups sending millions to Republican candidates; it sure helped.

Tomorrow, join me!

My mother quit when my dad told her she'd never quit, she didn't have the guts. She never picked up a cigarette again.

Some people quit after a health scare and some when they look at the smoldering thing in their hand and just don't want to do it any more.

Some, like you, realize the kind of weasels who are getting their money and quit because of that.

I understand it's hell and the only way out is through, so congratulations on that 175 days of breathing fresh air and not contributing a dime to the tobacco lobbyists or their pet Republicans.

I joined you retroactively, in 1994, when cigs cost just under 2.00 a pack.
i was pissed at Phillip Morris.

Looks like a lot of people are joining you.

The CDC says in its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report that the prevalence of smoking fell in 2007 to 19.8%, nearly a full percentage point from 20.8% in 2006.
