Lying for the Lord: The Mormon Missionary Rides High

https://rjosephhoffmann.wordpress.com/2012/10/05/lying-for-the-lord-the-mormon-missionary-rides-high/

In case you need to hear it again. Mitt Romney will not raise taxes on the middle class, will not increase the deficit, will create 12,000,000 new jobs in the first three months, will protect small businesses, and will save Medicare and Social Security as we know it, while giving future “seniors” more choice about health care options. Everything’s comin’ up roses, and you heard it from his milk-drinking, alcohol-free, tobacco-eschewing lips.

A lot has been made about Romney’s lies, and his commitment to post-truth politics. But they are not really lies–at least not the sort of whoppers that Ben Franklin alluded to in Poor Richard’s when he said the truth stands on two legs, a lie on one.

In the image-is-everything world we live in, propagating your version of the reality you want the world to see is the real goal. Mitt Romney is good at it. But he is not good at it because he a a good lawyer, or a good businessman, or a good guy.

He is a good at is because he is a Mormon–and not just a Mormon but a really good Mormon. And really good Mormons are the best liars in the world....

Mitt Romney, if he is elected, will be the first uniquely American Mormon president. As voters consider their choices, they need to know that Mormonism is and always has been a duplicitous, deceitful and lying cult whose movers and shakers were accustomed to living in a post-truth era long before there was a postmodern justification for it. Whenever things got tough–as they were for Mitt Romney before his debate with Barack Obama–there was always the fallback position: a new truth, a new reality, a new made-to-order revelation. People who like truth may regard Mormon ethics as a little slippery.

a world of difference between your average Mormon, and a Bishop and stake President like Mitt Romney. From my personal encounters with Mormon missionaries, and from what I know of the leadership of the LDS, the article is correct. I have never met a more deceptive group of people than the Mormon "church."

I was married to a pious Mormon woman and believe me, they are taught from an early age that lying is way to justify or achieve anything they want. The truth is whatever they say it is at the time they say it. Romney is a lying scumbag who believes he has been chosen by God to save the country and his religion justifies his lying to win the election.

can all go f@ck themselves. Religion is a waste of time and energy. This video was not epic it was a boring waste of time. I live amongst the Mormons and I just shut the door in their face or turn my back and walk away. Pretty simple really.

I've lived in Utah. Most of the Mormons I've known were good, salt-of-the-earth people.

Not that I'd vote for Romney. Not on a bet. He's a lying weasel.

But it wouldn't be right to judge a whole religion/culture by one poor specimen.

...born and raised in the church, and I can say with all fairness and beyond a shadow of a doubt...

...THERE IS NO FUCKING WAY I WANT A MORMON IN THE WHITE HOUSE, and especially NOT THIS MORMON!

Yes, generally the average mormons are "good, salt-of-the-earth people"-type people. The problem is when the congregate and kick in to their hive mentality. Except there is no Queen at the top of their hierarchy -- or any other female in any leadership role -- there is only white, holier-than-thou, old men whose authority is absolute.

I guarantee a Rmoney White House would have "hot line" direct to Salt Lake City.

Good, likable, fair and considerate people just fall into line when "activated", so basically you just can't expect consistency or you can have a consistent person all of the sudden change position or stance. People I have spoken with won't do business with Mormons, they go along straight-forward and fair, but when it comes down to money, they become sneaky and screw you.

Cult, smult. My problem is the already tenuous separation of church and State. And from my personal opinion, Church and State would be SEVERELY stretched with a Mormon - especially this Mormon - in the White House.

There are no angels.
There are no demons.
There is no heaven and there is no hell.
There is only our real, natural world all around us.
Religion is but myth and superstition.
Religious conviction hardens hearts.
Religious faith enslaves minds.

I wonder the same thing about other religions who continue to defend and give money to people who seemingly go against the values of their own church, temple, mosque, etc.

Matthew 23:13 KJV – “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for YE SHUT UP THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN AGAINST MEN: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in”. --------//--- How do the lying hypocrites do that? --- YOU TEACH LIES, THAT’S HOW!!!!

Ephesians 2:6 KJV – “And HATH RAISED US UP TOGETHER, AND MADE US SIT TOGETHER IN HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS”. -----//-- That’s the RAPTURE, if there is a RAPTURE!!! -- Do any of you smart guys think that that is NOT worse than “THE “MERE” KILLING OF JESUS CHRIST”? –Teaching false doctrine is worse, by far, than killing Jesus!!

1 Timothy 4:16 KJV – “TAKE HEED UNTO THYSELF, AND UNTO THE DOCTRINE; continue in them: for in doing “this” THOU SHALT BOTH SAVE THYSELF, AND THEM THAT HEAR THEE”. ------//--- What is that saying? - That it is OK to teach something that is A / “A LIE”? – Any single little “LIE” is “FALSE DOCTRINE” and is condemned of the TRUTH / GOD!!! (( You and those who try to enter the Kingdom, just may enter in, IF you fools were to just take heed unto yourselves, but you cannot ))!! ---- What does it take for a “TRUE HYPOCRITE” to come to the knowledge of the Truth? – There’s no power in Heaven or Hell to change a TRUE FOOL’S STUPID MIND!!!!

---Gal. 4:16.
---"Am I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth"

No bigoted hate speech.

Do not post bigotry based on someone's race or ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or lack thereof, disability, or other comparable personal characteristic. To be clear: This includes any post which states opposition to full equal rights for gays and lesbians; it also includes any post asserting disloyalty by Jewish Americans, claiming nefarious influence by Jews/Zionists/Israel, advocating the destruction of the state of Israel, or arguing that Holocaust deniers are just misunderstood. In determining what constitutes bigotry, please be aware that we cannot know what is in anyone's heart, and we will give members the benefit of the doubt, when — and only when — such doubt exists.
