Is it a problem if Romney remains a "moderate" for the rest of the campaign??

Romney will continue to say that he will not cut taxes on the wealthy if it increases the deficit. Of course, he will not raise taxes either. He has signed the pledge.

However, if Romney comes out in the next debate and is "moderate" on Medicare and Social Security, what does that do to the argument the Obama campaign has in store for him?

I suspect the Romney campaign will try once again to disarm Obama and Biden by playing the "moderate" card. The Obama campaign should have another response instead of "they changed their position." That message will not work.

How should the Obama campaign handle the new "moderate" positions of Romney and Ryan? Can they deny them those positions? I think this is the direction the campaign should be thinking about before the next debate. Anyone have a different opinion?
