California ballots go out in the mail tomorrow.

I know Obama has a lock here, but we have the opportunity to pick up some Congressional seats, take 2/3 of the legislature and need to vote YES on 30 and NO on 32. So vote and send those ballots back ASAP.

1. Going to NY on Saturday-Wednesday, then to France to work for a month I hope it comes before I leave

so my wife doesn't have to FedEx it to me (and then me send it back) from France. The effort and cost will be a pleasure actually, I just hope that it comes before I split, it would be just easier.

When I found out they were not going to mail them out until October 8, I did think for a huge state this is sort of late in the general scheme of things. Why doesn't CA have early voting like many other states??? We control the statewide offices. We are supposed to be a progressive state, CA should be leading in making voting easier. I feel that CA is slightly behind in something that they should lead on, similar to pollution standards etc...

Debra Bowen is the Secretary of State and often mentioned for statewide office like Senator or Governor. As the SS of CA, she could go the other way from the Republican Scum SS's in OH or PA and work to expand voting here in CA. Seems like a no brainer issue to get behind...

Nothing unusual here. BTW, California does have early voting, at least in my county. You have to go down to the county registrar, though. It started on October 8 as well.

Voting here is IMHO a lot easier than in most states. And we still get abysmally low turnouts.

5. You can vote in-person at an office in your county before you leave

The offices listed at this link should allow early in-person voting now, but contact your county's office to verify and get info on their voting hours:
