Just got slapped with all this from a freeper.

In regards to me posting this graphic.

Came to DU to start searching for answers to get my item-by-item rebuttal shaped up.

************
How...the number of lost jobs still not covered by jobs added....real unemployment rate of over 11%......price of gasoline over twice from 3 years ago, GNP of 1.3%!!!!!!!!!!....potenial tax increases for many small business.....tax increases for everyone because of Obama care.....the sick desire to penalize success......excessive and overbearing regulation....a basically worthless stimulus program that wasted a billion dollars...trying to pick winners, who actually were losers in the green energy business costing us billions!!!!........that's just a start as to how he has made things worse.
************

I already rebutted the green energy thing using this:

...as it allows for a more nuanced assessment of "employment health" in the country.

So does he know the numbers under Bush? Or the longer history, back, say, to WW2?

I'm guessing no. Did he even know this number existed until RW Radio blatherers or FOX started using it because their beloved 8% mark was crossed? Smart money (possibly up to $10,000) says 'no".

And, it is exactly this kind of attitude which is defeatist.

I live in Republican Hell. And, you know what? Conversations with the guy who mows my lawn for me, got him to take the NoBama magnet off his van. In fact, he so damned disgusted with Republicans he's staying home for this election. A few conversations with him got him to that point.

That's one less vote for the other side.

I would dearly love to know since our extended family is all repub and it appears that most of my FB friends from my childhood are. It's really scary, especially considering we're in Northern Delaware, where it is mostly liberal Dems (or at least has been in the past).

I really believe most of them are leary of Romney. They're voting for Paul Ryan, not Mitt Romney (which is, of course, worse in our book).

But, I played very heavily on his basic distrust of Romney, as well as the historical behavior of our local politicians, who are every one Republicans.

The most effective debate centered around making it apply to HIM.

If they can't understand it then it's because they don't want to.

George W Bush is like an airline pilot that puts his plane into a flaming nose dive and then hands the controls over to the co-pilot Obama. Obama managed to pull the plane out of the dive and put the fire out. These people are the passengers complaining about the in flight movie. The fact that we didn't crash seems to escape them just like the reasons for the near fatal brush with disaster. They are clueless nitwits.

http://gasbuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx

Shows the gas prices over up to the last 8 years. Two months before the election in 08 gas was $4.19, by election day it was down under $2. I dont remember that but it dropped really fast and rose back over a couple of months. This is a stupid point by their side.

Presidents don't decide gas prices. The GOP run oil industry does.

The number of lost jobs still not covered by jobs added - actually we have fully replaced private sector job losses. The net loss to date for the recession is now due solely to the public sector employees fired after the Teabagger revolution in 2010. Obama can not force Republican governors/legislatures to undo the damage they have done to their own states.

Real unemployment rate of over 11% - see above.

Price of gasoline over twice from 3 years ago - yet less than it was in July 2008 before it plumeted as a result of the recession. There is one thing Obama could do to lower gas prices. He could bend over for Iran. But I doubt you want him to do that. Gas, the Stock Market and private sector hiring have fully recovered from the recession in Obama's first term. Can you imagine how well the market and private sector will do if we keep on track? Or do you think everything is going to suddenly turn around? If so, why would it suddenly stop improving after 3 years of steady improvement?

GNP of 1.3% - so you admit improvement since he took office. Keep posting stuff like this and I just might start believing you are an Obama supporter!

Potential tax increases for many small business - when has there NEVER been a potential for taxes to increase?

Tax increases for everyone because of Obama care - that is just a flat out lie. The vast majority of people will see no tax increase whatsoever.

Excessive and overbearing regulation - for example?

A basically worthless stimulus program that wasted a billion dollars - the stimulus was passed three months into Obama's presidency. The economic turn-around began three months into Obama's presidency. Coincidence? Or perhaps leading economists are correct when they say the biggest problem with the stimulus was that it was too small. You do know that spending increase under Obama is the lowest of any President since the first year after the Korean Conflict.
