(24,411 posts)Where in the hell is the ad that shows Romney's debate lies---and then shows Romney's words on the campaign trail that exposes his debate lies?
Show Romney at the debate--denying that he intends to voucherize Medicare. Then cut to Romney's own words about voucherizing Medicare.
Show Romney denying his $5 trillion tax cut, then show Romney on the campaign trail--chatting up his plan to cut taxes across the board by 20 percent.
Show Romney's debate comments about covering pre-existing conditions--with campaign contradictions.
This kind of ad--could have made serious dents in Romney's post-debate glow. Where the hell was it? Where the hell is this ad????
I totally understand Obama's frustration with the debate. He's an honest person of integrity who wanted to debate the issues. Instead a psychopath showed up with a bunch of lies. I'm sure it was infuriating. However--you counter that with the passion of a thousand burning white-hot suns.
Where's the counter? Seriously. We don't have a day to waste.

(85,998 posts)OFA has been producing 'Romney lied' ads by the literal dozens since the debate and distributing and airing them in a targeted and strategic manner. You may not be aware of their efforts, but I'm not going to spend time arguing with you on this. I've seen more than one post where you've promoted the view that their advertising isn't capitalizing on the theme of 'Romney lied' and it's just false and uninformed. The ads have been produced by the campaign, are to the point and clever, and are being actively distributed.
Inform yourself . . . your complaints are just not credible. Look at the ads in the archive. Look at the dates produced. Watch them. Look at their content and innovation. Let's argue reality instead of just angst and build on the campaign's on-the-point, targeted, and rapid responses
How are these videos/ads actually used by the Obama campaign? Some insight, here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=1481543

I'm not going to debate this with you, Coffee Cat. Take a clue . . .

(24,411 posts)I live in a swing state, and I see ads all of the time. I work at home and the tv is on and within viewing distance all day.
I have not seen an ad on television like this.
I may have missed something. Of course that is possible. I did see an Obama ad that was "post-debate" themed, but it did not cut between Romney's debate lies and his campaign lies. It showed a Romney lie, then cut to Andrea Mitchell.
I see a missed opportunity and you won't find a bigger Obama supporter than me. I am appalled at the possibility of a Romney presidency and I see the lack of television debate ads that tear down Romney's debate lies--as a missed opportunity.
So yeah. I'm not asking for a debate. Simply stating my opinion.
Geesh!

(24,411 posts)....and I do think those ads are just fine.
However, the original point of my post in this thread--and in the threads that you criticized---was this:
The most effective ad would be Romney's words in the debate--juxtaposed against ROMNEY'S OWN WORDS from his campaign.
That's all I want. Romney lying in the debate--then cut to film of Romney saying the opposite on the campaign triail.
It's simple. It's effective. It's my opinion about what would be most effective. You may disagree.
Again, I appreciate the ads, but every single one of those ads does this: Uses Romney's words---then cuts to a reporter or a quote from someone else---that counters what Romney says or reveals Romney's words as lies. YES, that is ok. It's an honest effort.
I guess I'm just a bit more granular in my analysis--as I have 15 years experience in pubic relations/media relations.
I have a very specific idea about what would work best, and if Obama was my client Romney on Romney is the approach that I would advise.
And if the campaign showed me the slew of ads that you just posted, I would say, "Great. A terrific start. But let's show Romney lying in the debate, then immediately cut to Romney saying the opposite on the campaign trail. Let Romney make a liar out of himself. Why use a third-party, such as a reporter or a think tank--to SAY that Romney is a liar--when we can SHOW that Romney is a liar with his own words."
That's my 2 cents. No charge.

(85,998 posts)nothing for you, but to just argue back and forth.
What you're asking for is in the ads at the archive link. The other link demonstrates how the campaign actually uses these ads in a strategic and targeted manner.
here's today's ad (using Romney's words from the debate against his words in the fundraiser).
Actually take time to watch and listen to this one . . . and the others, as well.

(24,411 posts)...and I commend the Obama team for doing that.
However, that same Romeny vs. Romney needs to be applied to the following:
---Romney denying, at the debate, his tax plan would cost $5 billion. Then roll tape of Romney praising his $5 trillion tax plan.
--Romney denying, at the debate, that he would voucherize Medicare. Then roll tape of Romney touting his Medicare vouchers.
It's just my opinion; not an argument at all.
Edited to add--I will look at the archive link too.

I'm in NC. I have noticed that Romney is increasing his ad buys in NC. Probably because we are still close, but leaning red.
