This is what the republics are up against:

I was with my six year old grandson at his soccer game Saturday. There was a beautiful child on the team named Noah. He was adorable, very Asian. His skin was tanned a beautiful mahogany color. This is in Florida where the kids play outside a lot and get a lot of sun. His hair was blue black, sticking adorably in every direction, sparkling in the sun with a million glints of diamond dust. He was a terrific athlete, with leadership abilities. He would gently wave the kids back who were too far forward in their positions, and they followed his directions. I have an Anthropology background, so I was just curious if he was one of those foreign-adoption babies or what. On the way home, I asked my grandson if Noah is Chinese or Japanese. He replied adamantly that he is not Japanese or Chinese!! He is English!! Grandson conflated language with nationality there, being only 6. My point is, that GS did not see a racial difference at all. Big Bird may have something to do with that, as well as other factors such as our son not talking about racial differences. Big Bird is a huge problem for the republics and they know it. They are trying to stick the stilleto where it needs to go.

... someone in a crowd. I don't think they became aware of racial differences until they were 8 or 9, and only because it was brought up in the classroom as a subject of diversity. Then again, one of my nieces identified someone (in a loud voice) as "THE ONE WITH THE FAT NECK!"

As for racial diversity (why the GOP hates Sesame Street), with a big FUCK YOU to rMoney...

To you and his family. He obviously doesn't hear a lot of racial or ethnic bashing at home. Big Bird is great but, he can only do so much. The best teachers are the ones you live and interact with on a daily basis. Take a bow Grandma.

My daughter is now 27 years old and just the other day she thanked me for teaching her at a very early age that a person's character is not determined by the color of their skin.

She watched Sesame Street every day!
