I cannot believethat American people are gullible to the point that they buy Rmoney and Lyan's LIES

No way they cannot let these RW radicals deceive them and take away the entire New Deal as well as Social Security.
This is BS going on here.

Latest is that they clipped out the part of Obama's UN speech where he says "...the future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam...", and they made a whole show about it--proving that Obama is indeed a Muslim! My mother reported this to me, so I googled it and sent her the entire clip.

I put a lot of the blame on RW talk radio and media outlets such as fox news. They have polarized the parties to the point of rabid sports fans and spread hate and fear like dust in the wind. My thoughts are that it all started with "the silent majority" and the "christian coalition."

People are ignorant and intellectually lazy. "Reading is stupid" is a prevailing attitude in this country. Smart people are derided. Science is disputed in favor of mythology.

Oh yeah, I no problem believing it at all.

9. One of the greatest example of stupidity is healthcare
Tue Oct 9, 2012, 05:38 PM
Oct 2012

we pay more than 6% more than anyone else and yet we receive no better healthcare than most industrialized countries. For all the business majors who are in my opinion way overrated as far as intelligence(and I was a business major), this is a perfect example of their stupidity.
In your final year of school you have a class called business policy. They are case studies of business problems and you have to write up the most logical solution.

If we changed healthcare to let's say software or any service not a single one of these students would choose the "more expensive" solution. Yet they all choose our present system.

10. It's personality types and brain areas used
Tue Oct 9, 2012, 05:41 PM
Oct 2012

I think it is personality types - really authoritarians (prefer strength, power, dominance and closed minded - e.g. monarchies) versus non-authoritarians (interested in equality and fairness, tolerant, open minded to others e.g democracy).

I'm 56 I really don't believe republicans believe in small "d" democracy - they would much prefer a monarchy of rich white people e.g. Romney and Ryan both born into wealth and antithetical to notions of "merit" that republicans so willingly espouse.

In many ways telling someone you disagree with his/her politics is telling him/her you don't like their personality - and it is likely and unfortunately, true.

You can tell people the facts surrounding any given issue until you are blue
in the face but you can't make them believe if they don't want to. I always
find that incredible but it is true.

The cursory American political animal needs only nibbles of information - despite the veracity of the source - to formulate an opinion.

Because of this, the American Era will be short (less than 100 years). And, we're at the end of it.
