hey teachers

what would you do about a principal who enforces rules like dress codes on the poor minority students while not saying a peep to the rich white kids about the same thing? He also told us we can't take away recess as a classroom management technique but then turns around and takes it away from poor hispanic kids without so much as telling us the policy has been changed.

i think he leaves the privileged kids alone because their parents will complain and that must be avoided at all costs. the poor kids (overwhelminly minority) have parents who won't rock the boat - so the end result is racist. classist might be a better word because he will crack the whip with the poor white kids too.
