http://www.mediaite.com/tv/chuck-todd-calls-rasmussen-polls-slop-scott-rasmussen-responds/Appearing on CNBCs Squawk Box, Todd got into a heated argument over the validity of Scott Rasmussens polls as compared with those commissioned by NBC News and The Wall Street Journal.
We spend a lot more money polling than Scott Rasmussen does, said Todd on CNBC. These guys are the gold standard. We spend so much money. So, it is unfair I hate the idea their polling, which is rigorously done has to get compared to what is, in some cases, you know, slop.
Rasmussen said that his polling outfit showed virtually no movement in the final months of the 2008 campaign, and this years polls have shown a 3 point race between Romney and Obama consistently for several months.
(Megan) Kelly backed up Rasmussens defense of his surveys (of course), saying that a study from Fordham University in 2008 showed Rasmussen was the most accurate pollster in that cycle. In that study, NBC/WSJs polling came in 13th place.

Somehow, I like the idea of Todd and Rasmussen fighting it out (preferably to the death)...

My gut tells me that if we continue to press hard, GOTV, speak vigorously about the issues, help people get to the polls, fight disenfranchisement vigorously in an "in your face" fashion, and don't back down, we'll win. Might be by a little, might be by a landslide, but we can do this if we just keep an eye on the prize.
I really don't care what a poll says. Polls are sometimes right, and sometimes wrong. If this is a runaway for either candidate, there are no ad buys, and the corporate media have an interest in getting everyone's gonads and/or ovaries in a swivet over "Ewwww, who's gonna WIIIIIIIN?"
I'd rather just keep marching towards the goal.
