(18,672 posts)Joe looked and sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Ryan looked like he was reciting talking points he'd memorized.

(24,149 posts)Ryan showed himself to be the shallow, lying, scripted asshat he is.
Biden's position was the man who knows, who's done it, who calls out all the lies.
SO many incredible moments. I thought Biden did Democrats a world of good for many years to come!

(24,766 posts)As a matter of fact, he almost called Ryan a liar right to his face--in front of the whole country.

(9,186 posts)I sensed a turn when he wiped the smile off of Ryan's face about a half hour into the debate.
Then when Joe looked at the camera and asked: do you want to trust Obama and me or them...Killer!

(59,305 posts)He was to the point, didn't wander off into nonsense, and appealed to the middle class.
Ryan on the other hand came across as a well to do Republican who doesn't give a flying shit about anyone.

(28,870 posts).. for smokin Ryan out on Syria.
When Ryan said that the Romney team would
send troops into Syria in the national interest,
that was it!

(7,968 posts)He didn't pull his punches he went all in. People want the person they vote for to be passionate about their beliefs. Biden absolutely won on all fronts.
Ryan's canned catch stuff sounded dull and rehearsed.

(24,721 posts)seniors, & to those in need. He was clearly more knowledgable & seasoned on foreign policy. All around, Biden's maturity & common sense won this debate for him. Ryan came across as wet behind the ears with a bag full of experimental ideas that surely had to have sounded scary to viewers who are more experienced in life, particularly on the Social Security & Medicare programs.
His most brilliant answer was to the question, how would his Catholic faith affect his view in regard to the country's abortion policy. He said that, as a Catholic, he believed that life began with conception but he could not impose his religious beliefs on a nation that included such a diverse range of religions with different beliefs than his.
Other than the fact that there was no time for Biden to fully address Ryan's lies on Obama's record, I'm very pleased with the debate.

(17,340 posts)Biden made Ryan look like the unprepared jerk he is.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)because he didn't let Ryan get away with lies. That's where Obama messed up the first time. He let Romney sit there and lie, and didn't bother to call him on it. Biden cut that off at the pass right at the beginning by bringing up well known falsehoods by Ryan (marathon time, etc).
Biden didn't pull punches, but was still a gentleman about it.

(2,163 posts)but I hope his Libya comment doesn't come back and bite the administration in the ass.
There's better things he could have said to Ryan's comment about Benghazi.

(21,925 posts)Romney was good at posturing and Obama was lethargic and too affable, but if you analyze what he actually said, Romney didn't even do as well as Ryan did. Romney gave almost no details at all.
