The same reason why the Republican candidate for president is running an entire campaign based on horseshit. The same reason why the Republican party is in such a state that this was their top guy, and that after months of a parade of clowns.

to us people. So - we've got to focus on those things that can be uncovered. And even if the right wing voters had them - it wouldn't matter. We all know he is a tax cheat - we know it. But the other side doesn't care.

But they may care to know a thing or two about Mormonism.
