Article: Lindsay Lohan Endorses Romney, And It's Actually A Really Big Deal (?)

Last edited Fri Oct 12, 2012, 11:29 PM - Edit history (4)

Some good points in this article?? (READ IT)... it also saddens me that this is where we are at with low information voters today?

regarding Lohan endorsing Rr?

(added note: just heard that lowham isn't registerd)

Lindsay Lohan Endorses Romney, And It's Actually A Really Big Deal

Lindsay Lohan came out in support of Mitt Romney yesterday.

While most would at first glance write this off as gossip, it's the latest instance of an evolving trend that jeopardizes President Obama's chance at winning the White House.

Lohan, by all accounts, is a typical low-information voter. And low information voters, like it or not, will decide this election.

The first person to pick out this trend was Dave Weigel at Slate after sportswriter Buzz Bissinger endorsed Romney after his positive debate performance. Bissinger, Weigel notes, was a low information voter. He ignored the election, watched the debate, took everyone's word for it on the facts, and backed Romney.

As Weigel notes, it's not like either side was falling over themselves to score the lusted-after and enviable Bissinger endorsement.
But Bissinger is emblematic of millions of Americans. These people don't follow politics, don't understand the issues with depth, and plan to vote based on what little information they've gleaned.

Adult film actress Jenna Jameson has backed Romney because "when you're rich, you want a Republican in office." Wrestler Hulk Hogan has backed Romney because he wants someone to "just take the lead and run."

Lohan said that the reason she was voting Romney was "employment." From The Blaze:

“I just think employment is really important right now,” the troubled star told E!, while at Mr. Pink’s Ginseng Drink event in Beverly Hills, California, on Thursday. “So, as of now, Mitt Romney. As of now.”

Here's why the Obama campaign should be worried.

Lohan is a low information voter convinced that (a) employment is really important, (b) thinks that employment is not being sufficiently handled by the White House right now and (c) thinks that Mitt Romney is better equipped to handle employment.

That arguably logical sequence is all that it takes for a low-information voter to support Mitt Romney. The thing is, there are millions of voters like her. That should terrify the Obama campaign.

I was no longer a low information voter and that has been with me my entire life. The BIG TRUTH this story is, and honestly, this just struck me... My friend, Steve, who was a gay man, later died of AIDS shortly after his partner died sometime around 1993... and if Reagan wouldn't have held AIDS research hostage for 8+ years, my very good friend would probably be here today.

problem is, what do we do it about exactly? It's not like we're going to improve the IQ of so-called "low-information voters" in the time we have left, especially anybody whose vote might be swayed by Stacy Dash and/or Lindsey Lohan. I'd be a little more worried if somebody like Whoopi Goldberg or George Clooney came out in support of Romney but not the two aforementioned actress (as lovely as they may otherwise be they are essentially "nobodys" when it comes to politics IMHO).

I mean, Lindsay is admittedly pretty; it's a fading prettiness that needs cosmetic assistance, but still she has a pretty quality. Is that why you object to my remarks?

She's not a girl; she's a 27-year-old rapidly aging woman who is capable of taking care of herself.

And she is endorsing a candidate who would raid the social security trust fund for his Wall Street cronies and throw the elderly out of their homes, into the gutter and laugh all the way to his offshore bank accounts. If you think that means I am angry with this endorsement, you're correct.

slamming a guy for having cyber sex, became pretty much indefensible.

And whose business is it if someone in a marriage is cheating other than the two people involved? Did his wife ask us for our opinions on what her husband was doing or not doing?

If we ran every President and other elected officials out of office for their personal behavior, some of our best and most effective leaders would not have had the chance to have the positive effects they had on this country.

It was a witch hunt pure and simple. His personal behavior never interfered with his work as a Representative of the people who elected him and that is ALL that should concern us, especially Democrats.

The behavior of the leadership of the party was reprehensible also. Republicans did not run their guys out of office when they were caught cheating or whatever, which was total hypocrisy on their part considering their feigned outrage of Clinton and their 'family values' platform.

As a result they HAD to remain somewhat quiet on Weiner. But the Dem Leadership decided to run him out of the party for phony reasons of 'morality' or whatever.

You asked whether men get the same kind of treatment as women, and sadly the answer is 'yes' generally from the puritans in our society and the capitulation to puritanical bullying by weak minded people who are afraid to stand up to them. It should not happen to men or women.

Many people--male and female, straight or gay, bisexual, or transgendered--who enjoy a lusty sex life (which they have a right to enjoy if they wish to!) are also well-informed voters who cast their votes for the best candidates and even work their butts off to help get them elected.

Half of her fans who follow her on twitter will be too hung over or drugged out to even vote. The other half will be worrying about what shade they should color their toe nails that day.

Who continues to violate probation (for a jewelry store theft) and get away with it.

She is pissed at President Obama, because he didn't answer her dumb tweet a few weeks ago asking him to lower the taxes of her and her friends, and because the Obama campaign turned her down to be a campaign ambassador.

Considering she routinely misses community service and work appointments due to sleeping all day, I doubt she'll make it to the polls.

And, no, it isn't a big deal. Lohan is only a big deal to herself, her parasitic abusive parents, and her dealers.

GOP is really stretching to make Obama look bad. Mitt can have Lindsay.

What are the good points that have you so concerned?

People PITY her these days. Nobody's looking a her and saying they want to do anything she does. She was at Mr. Pink's Ginseng Drink event, you say?? Oh, dear God, we should shake in our UGGS!

Don't you know one George Clooney is worth a thousand or more Lohans????

Lindsay Lohan arrested again

Lohan was driving her Porsche Cayenne into the parking lot of the Dream Hotel off West 16th Street when she allegedly hit an employee of the restaurant next door, said Sgt. John Buthorn, a New York Police Department spokesman.

The entertainer kept driving before parking her car and apparently leaving the scene shortly after midnight, Buthorn said. Police arrested her about 2:30 a.m., and she was later released on her own recognizance.

Last month, Los Angeles County prosecutors released a report saying that Lohan, who is still on probation for a 2011 shoplifting incident, was a suspect in a burglary at a Hollywood home. However, prosecutors determined they did not have enough evidence to charge her.

People are being educated through social media. In the past, people had to SEEK information. Now it is coming to them through social media. The truth is, there are few people who will alienate themselves on social media simply to avoid the occasional political posting. And although they will often not open the things they don't agree with, they ARE aware of the general feeling from these posts.

I have been seeing a real shift among my own friends and family and have even been thanked and complimented, by unlikely sources, for the political postings. I know that this isn't just happening with me because i see others saying the same things, here, on occasion.

The radical ideology against women alone should be enough to turn any sane woman off the now extreme Republican Party. That she doesn't care about that is beyond comprehension.

But then again, the wealthy always have access to whatever it is they need, be it loop holes for bigger tax breaks or abortion services for their mistresses and daughters. Regardless of what they want the public to have access to, they will not be denied any thing. Privileged people will have their privilege!

So Lindsay can sleep well knowing that no matter what happens to the Supreme Court in the next few years she will have a bigger tax break if a republican is in office, the rest of the us be damned.

Fuck You Lindsay Lohan.

Her lifestyle and her parasitic mother have drained it all away, and her career is a joke.

She also owes money to loads of people via judgments, and is she was a black man, she would have been in prison by now for tax evasion (see Wesley Snipes), which is going to bite her on the ass one day.

I often think of Lizzy Kaplan, Rachel McAdams, and Amanda Seyfried from "Mean Girls," LiLo's last big movie that did well. Look at all of them now. Lacy Chaubert (sic) already had -- and still has -- a huge voice actor career.

Most people who don't pay attention don't bother to vote.

Most low information voters are just republicans.

Call me paranoid if you want, but to me this smells like the setup to be a rationalization for the 'surprising' outcome in a(nother) stolen election

Update: I was kinda right:

Meanwhile, before she votes for anyone, Lohan needs to update her voter registration, records show.

The actress was registered in California and voted in 2008.

But LiLo, 26, has since changed addresses and hasn’t registered at her new one, according to voter-registration records.

She has until Oct. 22 if she wants to vote in November.

and it worked. Sad, given the sad sack loser Lindsay is -- a tanking career, multiple DUIs, jewelry theft, hit and runs, etc. -- and the republicans want her as a mascot? Paris Hilton used to be the same way, except that people for the most part people stopped paying attention to her altogether a few years ago. Lindsay has served time in jail, has been found guilty of stealing jewelry, and is a fine model for the republicans (snort)
