MSNB-SH*T

OK,let me state some disclaimers, even though I know they will be ignored by some people:

Yes, I know Obama's debate skills were awful. Though frankly, the fact that telling the truth loses to lying is more an indictment of Americans than Obama.

Yes, I love Rachel Maddow and Melissa Harris-Perry. I even like Chris Hayes.

However, let's face facts, MSNBC is made of people who are in it for the Ego. They do not need to be paid shills, their ego is enough to make them the perfect useful idiots the GOP needs.

Tweety, your sexist comments in 2008 made divisions, making sure it became an issue of racism versus sexism, instead of "how the hell do we kick the GOP out."

Ed, you seemed to slam Obama because he did not follow your exact playbook. You want to bark orders to someone, get elected yourself.

Chris Todd, Mika, Joe Scum, everyone sees your stripes. If the revolution comes, you three should share a cell. Yes I include Mika because she enables Joe Scum.

And S.E Cupp and her mates on that show that no one watches because it sucks that bad? Do I even need to say what we should think of them? And no,it is not because they are Young; I have seen high school students that are more wise.

So, in short, we can take what we want fromMSNBC, but it is time to end the love affair. This network will not advance the left, as much as try to tame it.

MSNBC is the only thing we've got to counter Fux & rightwing hate spew in mainstream TV right now.

It's not a "love affair," it's a link to some degree of sanity. Ed and Tweety ARE speaking to some out there who would otherwise watch Fux.

I think they're doing a fairly decent job in a bizarre extremely polarized political climate. A stepping stone to the day when we really do have more of a voice in media. It is MUCH better now than in the dark days of Boosh.

Although others were speaking Truth at the time--Goodman, Hartmann, Gore, Bradblog etc.--Olbermann was directly in the line of fire, out alone in the arena of cable TV --standing in front of the tank.

"fraudulent war and needless death" ...he pulled no punches

trying to find some "liberal bias", aka sanity and the reasonable articles were few and far between. Today I am rather distrustful of a number of journalists who have moved left because I remember their "rah-rah Bush" articles from that time. Thomas Friedman and Joe Klein come to mind. Its like they are new and different people, but many of us remember. Saying pretty much whatever they think people want to hear, seriously undermines their credibility for a long, long time!

I even remember Joe Klein being referred to as a "liberal journalist" - compared to WHAT???

when there were no reasonable voices on television and MSNBC was just as bad as the rest of them. They have come a long way and I appreciate that they present the conservative viewpoint as lame as it often sounds. I don't want a liberal version of FOX News, I want objective, intelligent news and commentary.

I don't like every personality or every show on MSNBC, that would be true of any network.

& personalities. In this era I do like & respond to the fact that MSNBC leans towards what we'd call liberal, and they don't feature right wing extremists in a positive light. I think they lean toward more Truth, anyway you name it. At least they have taken a clear direction away from outright lies and shielding exploiters. It is a clear direction, no matter how imperfect.

With the country manipulated to become so extremely polarized--I don't think you can avoid a feeling of MSNBC being a bulwark against Rush and Fux and all. So if people see it as a "liberal version" in this climate, that's OK with me. I KNOW the liberal version of right wing insanity doesn't even really exist anyway.

And try to explain to right-wingers that there is NO liberal media bias. They honestly can't see it. I've known some conservatives who actually think CNN is too liberal!

It is a tactic that republican politicians use to move us farther and farther to the right. Whenever anyone says something sane and factual, they scream "liberal bias".

I remember some incredible talk show television from the 70's that included very intelligent, educated people from both the left and the right. Even if you disagreed with the conservative viewpoint back then, you respected them because they were informed AND they didn't blatantly lie to make their point. It was challenging and stimulating. Now it is more scary and sickening (literally).

WRONG.

It is the RW M$M meme to have you agree with them to bash the President no matter what. Don't fall into their trap.

Try Martin Bashir, Al Sharpton, Lawrence O'Donnell, and even Krystal Ball as so far, none of them have drunk the RW Koolaid.

I don't get the people who still think Obama did some great job at the debate.

He muddied his opinions with Romney's. He rambled. He made weak arguments. He looked distracted.

I LOVE President Obama. I think the MSM is garbage most of the time. But I still think he gave a very poor showing at that debate.

In my opinion anyway.

We know for a fact he's not some hired gun, he's a true progressive and he doesn't have to accept money to pretend to be one. The fact that he has such a long career as a civil rights leader makes him genuine and makes me enjoy his show. He's no teleprompter master but he exposes the issues and rebukes the GOP talking points, occasionally injecting his personal experiences into the show.

despite some of the crap on MSNBC they have several hours of sanity each day, and weekend mornings. Not watching the hosts who are truthful is like walking away from battle. And this is a battle for the 4th estate in this country. It can be won with eyeballs from which money follows.

They may have other agenda's, but seeking out that kind of Public Stardom requires an ego that needs constant feeding. Your criticism there is irrelevant because it applies to everyone in the business.

If a media network is out to advance the cause of the right or left, they are a propaganda outlet not an information entertainment media. I detest Fox because it is simply Propaganda designed to attract the eyes, and ultimately the money, of a specific demographic of Neanderthals and Mongolian Hoard wanna-bes. What they did with their kind of political propaganda is force everyone else to move at least partway in that direction, existing to feed a demographic of like minded people.

I would prefer to see a media that covers news stories and provides information with as little spin as humanly possible, because I am more than capable of providing my own judgment, values, and knowledge to spin it.

Finally, Romney did not win because he lied and Obama did not lose because he told the truth. The images the two men portrayed on the screen is what made one a winner and one a loser. Romney was aggressive and commanding while Obama was withdrawn uncomfortable. Most of the people who watched it will not bother to fact check and won't read a site on either side that fact checks. They do not remember the words but what they saw on the screen.

In the next debate, I expect that President Obama will come out swinging, just as VP Biden did last night. From everything I read, he knows he lost and what did wrong. Next time he is on the stage, he will provide both an image of confidence and strength and facts.
