. . . President Barack Obama.
. . . not after watching this speech in Florida yesterday.

(86,004 posts)The theme all this week has been that Barack Obama is some kind of soft touch. You don't get to the presidency with a soft touch. President Obama has demonstrated that he's fully capable of taking the fight to his opponent. this is one excellent example of that.
Don't pretend that Joe Biden isn't being elevated this week (by some) to some other league when it comes to fighting back. Let's not forget who actually got us this far.

F.F.S.
Obama did well in his debate (contrary to the nonsense spewed out from the idiot media and from the ones that take whatever the media says like a host religious wafer in church) and Biden did well last night. They are both worthy of our support and loyalty and each have their strong points.

(20,864 posts)had Obama done what Biden it would have been totally out of character we would probably have hated it. I think Biden was chosen as VP exactly because he can be the loud mouth attack dog that says everything you are really thinking but the polite media won't let you actually say bluntly. He is like a smarter more ethical Dick Cheney that is actually right on issues. But the spirit is the same. Cheney got away with not worrying about being "super popular" and throwing red meat to the base (its the base and not the mythical undecided that usually win you elections). Biden is better in that people do actually like him and his comments are not based on a fantasy world that exists only in Dick Cheney and the 18 % Republican bases heads.
Contrast that with Ryan and Palin that are too afraid to actually say base appealing things because they want to remain popular and make money post election. Ryan has had zero up side because he can't actually say all the things he really thinks. He wants to run for president in 4 years. It's not that you need an attack dog VP... but clearly it helps. I think the older running mate that has no real political future like Biden and Cheney will be the model for future elections.

I think I can remember which one is President, but thanks for the reminder.
. . . there's the video right there of the President's riveting, energetic appearance in Florida and you can't think of a reason for this thread.
Take this post for what you want. It may well serve as a reminder who's at the top of this ticket. That didn't happen by accident. This speech is a good example of the fire that brought Barack Obama to office. Imo, if you don't think some folks here can't use a reminder, you haven't been paying attention.

Joe showed that and more in a face-to-face confrontation with his opposite number.
Joe's more than qualified to be one heart-beat away.
Obama / Biden -- that's the ticket!

There's that.
But point taken. We already have the RW and the MSM looking for anything to drive a wedge amongst Democrats. It's annoying to see a few on the Left coming with the "Biden saved Obama's job!" crap that started to jump off last night. They work as a TEAM.
