Im thoroughly insulted, especially when it comes to Mitt Romney.
When this bastard won the NH primary, he proceeded to go into his usual talking point-a-palooza about how, because of Obama, The middle class has been crushed ... our debt is too high and our opportunities too few."
Soooooooo, Mitt. Mitt. Fella. Pally. Are ya shittin us? The type of capitalistic practices you and your cronies have been pulling off for the past three decades had NOTHING to do with it? The Bewsh Borrow-n-Waste-O-Rama had NO part in this? Job offshoring/serial firing/cost cutting like there's no tomorrow while the Honey One Percenters got theirs in yearly lotteries . . . nothing to do with our current situation? REALLY?
Newt Gingrinch and Rick Perry did their best OWS impersonations this week . .. I guess Newt put out a PAC video highlighting R-Moneys Bain Capital adventures or something along those lines in a supremely hilarious attempt to make people think he doesnt believe in the same vampiric capitalism Mittster believes.
Take a look at this chart, if you will:
Waaaallll, lookit that!!
Seems they ALL support predatory business-as-mutual vampire capitalism, including Doctor anti-crony capitalism Ron Paul himself!!
Im insulted that you assholes even pretend to be on our side.
Im insulted that you even say I feel your pain. Dude, just DONT.
You know what Id rather hear you say? Id rather hear you say Success is the ONLY thing. Poor people are lazy bastards and thats why theyre poor. Equality is stupid, as is fairness. I love the lowest-possible-costing labor and I will scorch payrolls to get it. Firing? Really, I think of firing like I think of urinating . . . that is, I just dont care one way or another because Im a bloodthirsty sociopath. And, well, fuck you.
This is what I would rather hear ALL of you say. Listening to your lying is getting grating, because then the lie spreads and gets regurgitated (see: all of Ron Pauls followers who cant see past Legalize Teh Weed!!).

(24,461 posts)I'm just wondering how they were able to spin their way out of Mitt's "I Like To Fire People" truth . . .

(63,912 posts)They were spinning away on Morning Joe today and then asked a New Hampshire couple who they voted for and the guy took them to task for saying people aren't upset about predatory capitalism. It was funny. Deafening silence from the MJ spinners...

(1,372 posts)So why do some middle-class still vote Repub??
I had a very loud "discussion" with my cousin over Christmas
and she spouted all the usual talking points. As I logically
trampled all her points she started to interrupt and was totally
focused on winning her argument instead of trading data in order
to support her position.
Why is politics so emotional and subjective!
She can't see that she has been screwed by the Repubs and she is
part of the middle class even tho they have examples of how she and her husband have been treated unfairly at work.
Oh well, try again next year!!

(24,461 posts)I'm dumbfounded as to how these people can support politicians that think no more of firing them as they do wiping their noses.
I think it's really all about the need to feel more superior than someone or something. Like when everyone in this state voted for that anus Kat$hit for governor, I'm pretty sure it was for the purpose of "Stickin' it to the public werkers!". You know, because instead of unity, let's have everyone's life suck as much as theirs. Turned out that Kat$hit's plan was to screw everyone making under $250,000 per year.
Yeah, ask my wife how high off the hog she's living. She hasn't had a damned raise in THREE YEARS!!!
Public workers are your relatives, friends, colleagues, people who teach your kids, inspect your water, take your garbage, protect you, look after your kids. Not to mention, they're workers. I'm not sure why we all should be cheering public sector job losses. That's one of these Republican positions I never EVER understood and one of the many reasons why I can't take their economic Darwinist positions seriously.

(55,745 posts)Great post, Hugh. That chart should be a quick ID for what separates the good from the bad/ugly/etc.

(24,461 posts)This is how far corporations are entrenched in our system.
Laissez-fail Democrats and outright-Fascist Republicans.
It became crystal clear when the tax cuts for the rich were extended. Our "side" bought into the Trickle Down bullshit.
Nothing says "Permanent" like "Temporary", it seems.
I have no option.

(24,461 posts)Paul with the facilitator of crony Crapitalism himself. Messers Reagan and Regan say hi from the fires, Dr. Paul!
That young buck between them is good ol' Jack Fields, who helped author the 1996 Telecommunications Act.
It's kind of a funny way of drawing progressives to your side, putting up a picture of yourself with Mr. Anti-Progress himself. But then again, I'm not Ron Paul. Thank God.
