What Next ? (After the Election)

Hello all,
Have not been here for a while, computer crashed and lost password etc. However after getting back in yesterday and reading as many posts as possible I noticed a couple of notes suggesting taking a break after the election.
This reminded me of being at a meeting after the 2008 election when a party big wig said. "We had a good election now everybody take a break have a nice holiday period with your families and we will see you next year."
Wrong answer. We have to start preparing now for action immediately after the election. We have to step up to the needs in our country, the financial crisis being number one. We have to change the framing of this condition from deficit reduction to growing our economy. We can do this by supporting infrastructure investments, by supporting green jobs/energy and care for our people. We must refuse to buy into the austerity plan as being utilized in Greece. We must support eliminating the Bush tax cuts for the rich, invest in our country not the Cayman Islands. We must insist on preserving Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
In a nutshell what I am saying is after the election we all have to become even more active in our government from the local township hall meetings all the way to contacting our elected representatives in Washington D.C. Please join me in these efforts.

to people who actually worked their guts out for an election, abandoning home and family for the cause?

I doubt he was talking to people who posted a lot on the internet.

he was talking to all of us who spent the previous months knocking on doors, phone banking, providing rides to voters and standing in the rain holding signs for the campaign. You seem to have overlooked the message i was trying to send here.
