"At the rally in Freeport, we will have two microphones . . ."

The smartest thing POTUS can do right now is to hold a rally in Freeport tomorrow. The announcement for the rally should go something like this:

"The outsourcing of American jobs to China is not just a political issue, it's an American issue. It's an issue which we can all agree needs to be rectified. Judging from his statements on the campaign trail, we take it that Governor Romney agrees. Therefore, at the rally in Freeport, we will have two microphones; one for the President, one for Governor Romney. We would like for both candidates, both parties, to publicly speak out about this issue and announce what steps they will be taking to prevent the outsourcing of American jobs such as those at Sensata. We hope that the Governor will not leave his microphone unattended."

This is the business of the city and the state, too.

... not in a red state. I read that our Democratic Senator will be there (the Republican Senator is still out of commission). The governor (a Democrat) has been supportive.

Cities give tax breaks and perks to factories. Did Sensata negotiate staying open with them?

This isn't even logical. It's as if it was designed to do nothing but hurt the people of the USA and give the Chinese more control over parts. It just seems to be for nothing but destroying the American worker and manufacturing base.

The poor quality of parts manufactured in China and sold here for other firms, makes this a bad deal for American auto companies. It would put defective parts in American vehicles, either new or after-market.

There seems to be no logical reason for this at all and I'm sure Freeport did everything they could to make the town attractive to Sensata. The only thing that Freeport or Illinois could have done to keep that plant was to buy it away from Bain and operate it-- dare I say-- as a state run public firm, or worker owned.

If Romney gets in office, all of those will be sold off to China or other countries, or to international corporations, same thing.
