Tom said: "I don't remember when the Middle East was more fractured' than it is now."
Yes, he said that today on Meet the Press. By making that statement Tom has lost what little credibility he had left. You don't have to be a history buff to know that's a bunch of bull! Tom acts as if the problems facing us in the Middle East started once President Obama took office.

(47,156 posts)I have been reading between the lines of his brand of BS for a lot of years. The difference between Brokaw and say todays MSM hosts is that Brokaw was much slicker at getting repuke talking points out there, he paraphrased them, always pushing the conservative frame though.

(16,254 posts)Even if they don't win the conversation, they at least got out the ME is fractured...the ME is about to explode...the ME is about to erupt and it's all Obama's fault.
You know the game...say those words often enough and they become fact.

(9,385 posts)He was nothing without Jane Pauley. He's just another vastly overpaid and over-credited jerk.
And as for the "Greatest Generation", that little meme he started, THEY were the ones who refused to back up their kids in the streets fighting against an illegal war. F*ck that noise.

To quote you: "Tom acts as if the problems facing us in the Middle East started once President Obama took office."
I just want to know if that was intentional or unintentional on his part. Either way, it was irresponsible, and whatever shred of credibility he had before is definitely gone now.

(10,942 posts)The Middle East was never more fractured because WE never had a President that started two wars and we no longer hold up brutal dictators regardless of how they brutalize their people. Tom Brokaw is a fucking fool.
