Koch Industries, the Wichita, Kan.-based company run by the billionaire Koch brothers, sent a voter information packet to 45,000 employees of its Georgia Pacific subsidiary earlier this month.
In it was a letter, dated Oct. 1, from Koch Industries president Dave Robertson implicitly warning that "many of our more than 50,000 U.S. employees and contractors may suffer the consequences" of voting for President Obama and other Democrats in the 2012 elections, a list of conservative candidates the company's political action committee endorses and a pair of editorials: one, by David Koch, supporting Mitt Romney, and the other, by Charles Koch, condemning Obama.

(7,887 posts)Sounds like their own poor business decisions are going to bite them in the butt and they can't blame the DEMs because they were stupid enough to back the wrong guy with the wrong plan for our country.
SO once Obama is elected these idiots should face highest penalties for intimidating their employees from voting as they see fit in a free and DEMOCRATIC country. Gawd, we EXPORT Democracy, think we could get some here at home?

(28 posts)The Obama years have been very good to the Koch brothers. They keep getting richer and richer, despite a severe economic crises. In fact, last quarter their wealth jumped $12 billion, according to Forbes.
"Since Koch Industries is a private corporation, no one but David and Charles really know how they managed such high rates of return during todays deepening recession. Since the economic recession began in 2008, the Kochs have exponentially increased their wealth by 58% while median family net worth dropped 40%.
Koch Cash has skyrocketed amidst increasing American poverty, rising gas prices, as well as record temperatures and drought due to increased carbon emissions. "

Can someone please tell me how a radical Kenyan Marxist has been bad for the Koch Brothers?
p.s. For those you who cannot tell, I am being over-the-top sarcastic when I call Obama a radical Kenyan Marxist. However, I wanted to point out the fact that the Obama years have been very good to the Koch Brothers.

(100,079 posts)I just finished watching Robert Greenwalds movie," Koch Brothers exposed"and must say it was an eye-opener to the extent that they have been manipulating the system in their favor. The movie left me wanting to become even more active in my community to make certain that the enviornment is protected from the big polluters and coorps. that want to influence our public school system. Charter schools are on our ballots this election and I am busy trying to educate my friends to the dangers of these coming about.

So if you're currently working for one of the Koch's companies, time to polish off your resume.
Don't worry about the brothers, though. They'll be just fine.
