50 years ago today: The Cuban Missile Crisis began.

I remember. I was just a kid, but I remember watching JFK's speech, and being chilled to the bone about a nuclear war that until then was just duck and cover in elementary school. It was an incredible time. JFK and RFK saved us. And I watched that address on television, as a just turned 11 year old. I grew up a lot then.

of a nuclear exchange, and I remember waiting to hear those sirens. all of our bases here were on high alert, and the children of those military members in school were, to say the least, very nervous.
