The company I work for is having an informational meeting for our "Healthcare Open Enrollment" coming up this week. This is about a month earlier than normal (usually held in mid-November).
My company has way more than 50 employees so they are obligated to provide health insurance or face a penalty. Are there any regulation about how much of the premiums the company has to cover or can they shift a much larger portion of the insurance cost onto their employee?
If they can do so and they in fact do so, can the employees do anything outside the company to get insurance they can afford?

(1,786 posts)There is a percentage cap on premium cost transfer to employees, not positive. However u do not to enroll if you find better priced coverage outside of their plan, But normally you wont be able to beat the bulk discount rate they can offer.
