Republicans Believe In Outsourcing As An Economic PLan

Republicans I know believe that business should be able to hire who they want with no interference. They believe that even if it means sending ALL our jobs overseas. They are demented because they believe that in the final tally they will be the only ones with the jobs because they are better. Because many of them are Christians they believe that being a believer entitles them to the spoils of their faith.

The question is how can you ever even be in the same room with such people.

ADDENDUM ---- I have known someone for over 30 years who was a nuclear chemist. He is RW. His grandson graduated from college more than 18 months ago. He is working a crap job part time and living with his grandparents. He pays a little rent that they are saving for him. I was talking about outsourcing one day and he countered and said that an employer should be able hire anyone they want and take the business anywhere they want. That is freedom. This guy worked for a nuclear facility for 34 years that made atom bombs.

why would these people expect a country's taxpayer-funded military or police or firefighters to protect and defend them if they don't believe in contributing to that country's economy with jobs or taxes or whatever? The answer to these TAKERS could involve putting big tariffs on the goods and services they produce offshore and then ship back to the country; maybe even cancel their patents and auction their blueprints off to the highest bidder who produces domestically. Let the takers move to China or India and stay there.

But lets start with CEO's. American CEO's are not God's gifts to nature, yet they benefit from an incestuous relationship with their BoG, along with many political and trade policies that bar them from competition than many of us face with globalization.

Many countries produce excellent CEO's who would be willing to work for a fraction that American CEO's make. So, lets start there.

p.s. I am not necessarily a proponent of outsourcing, but I hope people here can see through my sarcasm and pick up what I am laying down. Dean Baker makes some excellent points in his book, The Conservative Nanny State, how "free trade" agreements only increase competition among some professions while others enjoy the benefits of protection.

I have a story for you.

A big name furniture company in the US decided to outsource it's manufacturing to China, they moved their machines there, etc. I found the quality fell, but I guess others thought it was good enough and the major investors and head management did very well for a little while, ... until... The Chinese figured they could do all this themselves and started not making for this company any more, but started making furniture under their own label, heh. They became a major cheap competitor, The company is barely hanging on and no big profits anymore.

They're also very adroit at using legal regs and plain old spin ( the megaphone ) to protect themselves from the "free market" they preach for all of us to live under. Gotta protect "talent" and all.
