One point I'd like to make about Tuesday's debate (make your own, if you wish)

A point I feel compelled to make about the Presidential debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney...

Although it is important that the President be dynamic, assertive and more engaged that he was in the first debate--he can beat the stuffing out of Romney by being armed with facts, the truth and loads of information. This is how Biden decimated Paul Ryan. Ryan could not compete with, nor could he effectively counter, Biden's rich depth of knowledge. If Obama showcases his commanding knowledge of the Middle East, the economy and fiscal policy--the assertiveness and engagement will naturally follow.

Lay out the truth--for we have the truth on our side. Speak in specifics. Hammer Romney into obscurity with knowledge and the FACTS.

For example--I just read that Romney is distancing himself from the neocon policy advisers--at least 20 of them who are on his team. Romney is saying that he wants a foreign policy similar to Reagan's. Bullshit. Romney's roster is a neocon snake pit from hell. When Romney tries to suggest this ridiculous assertion, Obama hits back with information. He names names. He tells the American people the positions those neocons held in the Bush Administration and he cogently reminds America of their gross failures.

Another example--on Benghazi. Remind the people how many attacks have happened throughout the years in the Middle East. There are hundreds of examples that have happened during Republican Administrations. Remind Americans that when the marine barracks were bombed in Libya--Democrats never tried to score political points. Remind Americans of the many instances where Democrats and Republicans came together on 9/11 and didn't politicize in order to score points (despite the August PDB).

Armed with details; armed with the facts; armed with the truth--we cannot lose, because Republicans are liars and conscious-lacking soundbyte spewers. They've got nothing but spin, obfuscation, distortions, hidden policies that they can't even explain--and math that adds up to 2+2= 4,295

Facts, numbers, relatable stories, the truth and rich details decimates these dark Republican schemes.

Go around Mitt Romney, as if he's so inept and inconsequential that he doesn't even deserve on whit of attention. Look into the camera and talk with the America people--and speak with those audience members with a command of the facts.

Then we win handily Tuesday and no amount of media-spin will be able to spin it any other way.

He just needs to keep feeding rMoney more rope, use that rope in his ads, and slaughter him in #3. HopeHoops Oct 2012 #2

I would ask which Mitt, moderate Mitt who claims he won't cut taxes on the rich or severely conservative Mitt who wants to cut taxes 20% across the board including the 1%
And so on.

Obama's way smarter than rMoney and far more well versed on issues than rMoney could even hope to be. He should play it cool and just open trap doors and let rMoney step into them.

...that Obama could use some of the debate material in ads.

However, ads do not replace a debate performance. Not in the slightest. Obama is capable of hitting a home run, and he absolutely has to. He can't just "play it cool" for the debate. He needs to be engaged and have a great performance--and hit Romney with the facts.

No tv ad can match the potency of this second debate. The media expects that this debate audience will be as large as the first debate (around 67 million people), which is unusual. Usually, ratings fall off for the second debate. Not in this case. Undecided voters, and many voters in general--are anxiously awaiting to see if Obama has a better debate and if Mitt Romney really is the wonderful guy that he was able to portray in the first debate.

So, it's even more crucial for Obama to bring his "A game" and for Obama to also reveal that Romney really is a liar and not the fake moderate and great guy that he pretended to be during the last debate.

It's all about looking for the opponent to fuck up. I've been on this since '80 and that's pretty much the game.
