And while it is unfortunate that most people watching Fox will never question Ablow's credibility, that also means your profession's proposed standards are still safe.

unreasonable to think that Reagan may have been showing early signs of the onset of Alzheimer's during that debate. I'm not trained in the field, merely an interested layperson, so I offer this up very tnetatively. But I've often wondered whether Reagan by 1984 was already experiencing intermittent dementia.

I actually remember (or think I remember) reading somewhere that Special Prosecutor Lawrence Walsh had considered indicting Reagan for Iran Contra but, after interviewing him, realized Reagan had dementia and was not criminally culapble. That may be a false memory but it has softened my opinion of Reagan a little bit.
