Those 1% ers appreciated they had more money than they could possibly ever spend, and set about pursuing a political legacy, for the good of the the rest of the country...oh no, not just in an altruistic way. Certainly their historical heritage was a big factor, Also, philanthropists like Andrew Carnegie and the Mellons were out there. It's even in question how much Mitt contributes in narrow philanthropy to his church, but he sure resents any foreclosure of his personal finances. Everything about Mr. Romney screams his self absorption.
