Mitt Romney Cancels On ‘The View’

Mitt Romney Cancels On ‘The View’

Mitt Romney has canceled his appearance on "The View," set for Thursday, co-host Barbara Walters said during today's show. He was scheduled to appear with his wife Ann, who will still go on the show.

Romney campaign press secretary Andrea Saul told TPM: "It was no longer going to work in the campaign schedule but Mrs. Romney is very excited to join the ladies of 'The View'."

During Mitt Romney's "47 percent" comments, the GOP presidential candidate also called the daytime talk show "high-risk, because, of the five women on it, only one is conservative, and four are sharp-tongued and not conservative.”

This is the coward some are pushing as "strong"

She was responding to a section of the leaked video, which was secretly shot at a Boca Raton fundraiser in May, where Romney discussed going on "The View"-- and cracked a joke at Goldberg's expense.

"'The View' is high risk because of the five women on it. Only one is conservative and four are sharp-tongued and not conservative, Whoopi Goldberg in particular," he said. "Although the last time I was on the show, she said to me, 'You know what? I think I could vote for you.' And I said, 'I must have done something really wrong.'"

"Well Mr Romney the man I was talking about turned into a man who flushed his ideals down the drain," she wrote. "Yes once I thought there was the possibility of a moderate republican who could make the race with Obama at least interesting. But that was Months ago before your desperation to be Presedent made u forget your ideals."

Romney gains nothing by debating intelligent women whom he's already offended ("sharp-tongued" will even piss Hasselback off). He'll just go around The View and talk to Fox, Fox affilliates, etc.

He doesn't need The View to reach the undecided flibberdigibbets who vote on whim or spite. It's all risk, and the rewards for standing up to Whoopi Goldberg are what, exactly? Conservative women will cast 2 votes each?

Those 1% ers appreciated they had more money than they could possibly ever spend, and set about pursuing a political legacy, for the good of the the rest of the country...oh no, not just in an altruistic way. Certainly their historical heritage was a big factor, Also, philanthropists like Andrew Carnegie and the Mellons were out there. It's even in question how much Mitt contributes in narrow philanthropy to his church, but he sure resents any foreclosure of his personal finances. Everything about Mr. Romney screams his self absorption. The Olympic thing with Ann's horse was unfortunate timing, but he was totally a dick to blow off any support to something obviously important to her to look good politically.
